Biggest let downs

IMO the Anointed One and Dracula. AO never really went anywhere, and Drac was just dull.

Dull? I think you meant sucked. He was so lame-o. Xander was really funny in that episode, though.

My biggest letdown in Buffy? The vampires. As much as I love the show I just completely hate the vampires...their "vamp" faces, the whole story behind them (in the Buffy canon), etc. And then you have the fact that it's never even explained what a soul in Buffyverse IS (they're definitely not what I consider a soul), which makes the vampires confusing on top of a little lame.

I agree there.
I have to say that the 'Snake' could have been a little better.

My biggest let down would have to be Xander. He has that shining moment in season 6 by 'saving the world' but honestly, I wanted more.
His conversation with Dawn in 'Potential' was very moving but as far as i'm concerned that was his only real contribution to season 7.

I'm with BotD here. I've said many times that my biggest complaint about season seven was the fact that Xander was pushed to the background. The one or two episodes that actually spotlighted him are only memorable for other plot points (such as Robin telling Buffy about his mother) rather than being memorable for developing Xander himself.

There were some great Xander moments but in my opinion, as one of the original Scoobies, he deserved better than "moments" in the last televised season. Hopefully the season eight storyline will allow him to shine again.

I think the fact that Xander and Anya really didn't have much to do in season 7 is what was a let down for me.

a big letdown for me was when Spike fell for Buffy, im sorry but it completely jumbled the storyline, true it gave spike a bit more of a scooby position, and they came up with more episodes for him, but honestly, i hated the spuffy ship, i think it was lame, and it would have been way better if he would have stayed an enemy.

I'm not a Spuffy shipper but I still enjoyed the direction they took his character in.

Think one of my let downs was Dawn... I still have to force myself to like her. And yeah I also missed Scooby time in season seven (like I loved the scene with them in the Bronze in 'Him').

i agree with Dzhugashvil...lack of comedy from S5 on. yeah, there were a few funny moments and eps, but nothing like what we saw in the earlier seasons.
one thing that REALLY bugged me though was 'Joyce' from 'Conversations with Dead People'. it was never explained if that really was Joyce Summers, or if it was The First, and what the hell her 'message' meant.

i know we all have our own theories, but it would have been nice to get an answer.

A souled Spike with Dru scene would have been awesome. I liked The First, but I wish Caleb had been around more. The Scoobies didn't really seem "together" after s5 to me.
