Billy....Truly one of the Series BEST!

BILLY

The Good;
Love the fact that Lilah is the hero, all round great performance from Stephanie Romanov and CC (their scene together is wonderful) and some terrific out of character stuff from Wes and Gunn. Fantastically poignant ending.

The Bad;
Why does Angel tell Billy's cousin he's going to kill him? How does he expect to be invited in after that?

Best line:
Angel; "She thinks I'm melodramatic?"

Jeez, how did they get away with that?
Very hard to watch at times, man's brutality to woman a lot harder to take than demons and vampires. Even though Gavin is evil you don't doubt that he would never dream of attacking Lilah if Billy hadn't infected him.

Apocalypses: 5

Angel Cliches

Inverting the Hollywood cliche;
Lilah kills the villain, bad girl comes good.

In disguise; 8

DB get's his shirt off; 12
9,

Cheap Angel; 7

Gunn; 1

Notches on Fang Gang bedpost:
Cordy: 3 ?+Wilson/Hacksaw Beast+Phantom Dennis
Angel: 5; Buffy, Darla and The Transcending Furies
Wes; 2; Virginia and the bleached blonde

Kinky dinky:
Wes comments on Fred's slinky number. CC and Angel 'getting all sweaty' whilst training as Xander would say. CC thinks Billy is 'kinda cute'.

Captain Subtext;
Wes has the hots for Fred and CC is aware of this. CC comments on using a phallic shaped weapon to threaten Billy. Angel is hurt that CC thinks him melodramatic.

Know the face, different character; 3

Parking garages;
5,

Guantanamo Bay;
Even Angel is shocked when he meets a battered Lilah. She refuses his sympathy however considering what he'd done to her in the past.

Buffy characters on Angel; 16
Wetherby, Collins and Smith. Angel, Cordy, Oz, Spike, Buffy, Wes, Faith, Darla, Dru, The Master, Anne, Willow and Harmony

Questions and observations;
The Blims are very obviously supposed to be the Kennedys (of course Stephanie Romanov played Jackie O in the excellent Cuban missile crisis drama '13 Days'). His cousin actually seems ok. What happens to the poor guys who Billy infected and who attacked their women? Hopefully AI/Lilah get them out? Angel tries to spare CC from killing Billy just as he and Gunn will later do with Fred and the Professor.
Marks out of 10; 8/10, good episode, would be 9/10 if it had more arc.

This episode freaks me out every time I see it. I also loved Lilah and glad she was the one who killed him.

8/10.

This episode absolutely terrifies me. 🙂 It's always been one of my worst fears that I'll be alone with someone I trust, and then that person will out of nowhere get completely evil/ insane and try to kill me. And this episode really played that up.

Alexis was definitely a great actor here. It was so creepy, like when he was telling Fred she was wearing those "provocative little outfits". I mean, that was a perfectly modest dress. But it made it questionable whether he wanted to rape her or kill her. Or perhaps both, in no particular order. 😀

As for the "two black eyes" thing, I actually didn't get it until now. 😀 But I still don't find it that funny. 🙂

Lilah being beat up was kinda sad, actually. She's such a tough woman; It's hard to imagine someone hurting her like that.

I loved Cordelia's speech. It was so beautiful and empowering. And their banter over shoes and fashion was awesome. 😀

Overall, this episode was slightly disturbing to me. Beating up women for no reason is kind of a touchy topic, and I find it odd how messed up some people like Billy are.

The ending was great though; Lilah finally taking her stand and killing her client. 🙂

So, freaky episode, but great acting. Fred was absolutely adorable. 🙂

Yeah, I always hoped that Lilah would come good and this ep made that a real possibility. Sadly not to be beyond fanfic

This episode really was good. Disturbing, but good. & I can officially say I'm on board the Fresley ship. The ending with Wesley was just so sad.

I personally adored Cordy in this episode and think that after she made the transition to Angel the episode Billy is how she should have always been portrayed. I mean she had everything in this episode witty banters, courage, and a big heart I enjoyed Cordy taking this personally and deciding not to sit back and to actually do something.

I liked this episode, but I have to admit I was disappointed to find out that Gavin was under Billy power at the beginning. First time I watched the show I guessed his calm attitude was just some act to throw off others and that he was actually very dangerous. But in the end his character was not as interesting as I expected and I felt sad when he got killed off in half a sec by the Beast.

I just watched this for a 2nd time. I really like it. It's difficult to watch at times, mainly the Wesley and Fred scenes.

One part that made me guffaw is when Angel and Billy's cousin were talking about melodrama. 🙂

I may watch this with commentary later.

I LOVE the music played during the scene where Wesley is walking down the hallway of the hotel looking for Fred. It's played a few times in S4 with Connor/Cordelia too. Anyone know the name of the song? I'd love to hear it in it's entirety.

I hated how Wes treated Fred in that episode, but I really like how Fred took charge and knocked him out! hahaha. And Cordelia was pretty great too. I love how she felt bad and went after Billy herself. It showed how much she's grown as a person.

Cool episode. I liked the shoe banter between Lilah and Cordelia, the shades of Wesley, the creepy scenes,and his remorse,the scene at the end. All good.

I love the scenes where Angel is teaching Cordy how to fight <3 This episode is really good. Wes is really creepy. But I do love what he says to Fred cause I'm evil like that lol.

Its an alright episode THOUGH it has a great joke in it

"What do you say to a woman with two black eyes?
Nothing you haven't told her twice"

I see absolutely nothing funny about that "joke"- it's incredibly sickening to me that anybody would feel that way. Then again, this comment was made by a banned member, so there ya go.

This is an excellent episode, although it's hard for me to say I "like" it, or that it's a "favorite". It's just too disturbing. Awesome, awesome performances by Denisof, Carpenter, and Romanov. That ending took me by surprise...and I've seen it before!

Alexis' performance in "Billy" was absolutely chilling! I felt like I was watching a horror movie with a crazy axe murderer chasing after the movie's heroine! I mean, poor Fred, yes, but poor Wesley too! He was so upset afterward! His little apology to Fred at the end of the episode was heart-breaking! I had been rooting for him and Fred to get together, and I just knew that their relationship would never be the same after that episode. 🙁

This is the latest episode we've watched and it really is very good. I liked the fact that it there was a gap of a fair few episodes before the character was brought back after that shady exchange in 'That Vision Thing'. Some of the highlights:

* The creepy score
* Billy's cousin being completely willing to let him die
* That joke
* The tense scene where we are led to believe Angel is going to go mental
* Alexis Denisof giving us a first glimpse of his real acting ability

What a great episode 🙂

This is one of my favourite episodes this season. We got to see the different sides of the characters, not a good side though. Loved the little light moments like the shoe talk between Cordelia and Lilah. Also the ending with Fred and Wes, and the "creeped out and comforted" talk between Angel and Cordelia

Oh god this episode is one of my favorites. Alexis puts in a simply superb performance in it as 'bonkers Wes', parts of which he went onto use in his later angst ridden version of the character in later seasons.
