Birthday Party Theme?

Ok I am throwing a surprise non-surprise birthday party, The Person knows about it, but the guests don't know they know, (I know fun 🙂)
But anyway we were thinking of making it a themed party, so I was wondering has anyone thrown a party with a theme that worked really well, or every had a really good idea for a theme??

I had a power rangers birthday theme once... it worked quite well... Oh wait that was when i was like 8... lol nevermind...
Since then i haven't thrown a theme'd anything so i dunno lol

my cousin had a masked ball party. it was really cute and luckily everyone dressed up like they were supposed to. the decorations were totally amazing too.

or, what if you made it into one huge Clue game? i saw that on TV one time, it looked fun

I mean, hello!

Well why I may choose that for myself, my friend my stop talking to me if I try and push my obsession on her party, although she does like Buffy and Angel, not to the same degree as I do!

Also I should mention that there is two possible places one is in a house and the second is in a club, like a rented out one.

I think a costume party would be nice. My friend, she threw a costume birthday party when I was a Junior in high school and it was a huge hit. Everyone had a lot of fun.

2zen2 agrees: ok - I'm still wrapping my brain around the concept that the guest of honor knows about the party but the guests don't... How do you get presents?

Well the guest of Honor doesn't like her old friends(And some of them don't like her), so we have set it up to look like I am throwing the party, that way as much people as possible should come, and they have to bring presents cuz it's a 18th, and she wants as much presents as she can grt, that's why everyone is invited! Oh and if anyone is forgotten, then it wasn't her, it was me, and they also wont try and stay at her house because I can't give them permission to do that, lol, it's a very weird plan!

I was once at a Toga Party. Simple bedsheets tied around people, it was alot of fun.

Just the other week a went to a dress up party(I know am I 5) but there wasn't a set theme it was interesting seeing what people came as. I dressed up like an angel (yes Al I'm working on getting those pics asap).

The best party I've been to was a "death party". My buddy turned 35, and we treated the party like his wake. He was there, but no one could speak to him...'cause he was dead! The cake was a coffin, black napkins, the whole thing...I'm thinking your friend will have to be a bit older for this to actually be funny, though...
