Has anyone here seen the new series, "Bitten," that just premiered on the SYFY Channel? It's based on Kelly Armstrong's novels about a family of werewolves, focusing on Elena Michaels, the world's only female werewolf. Judging from the first episode, they plan to remain fairly faithful to Armstrong's story line, within the limits of what is allowed on television.

It's hard to judge from what little I've seen so far, but it looks promising. As usual, I don't exactly agree with the casting of the characters, most noticeably Laura Vandervoort who just seems a bit too spectacular to be Elena as she described herself in the books (but maybe I just can't get the picture of her as Supergirl out of my head) and Greyston Holt, who just doesn't strike me as being as rugged and dangerous as Clay, the pack's primary warrior, should be.

I have never even heard of the books before, but it sounds interesting.

There is a whole series about different supernatural characters. The three about werewolves are "Bitten," "Stolen," and "Broken" (at least that's the only ones that I have read, but they are only part of her "Otherworld" series about various supernatural characters. Her website is:

if you, or anyone else, might be interested.

And just on a side note, in "Stolen," Elena mentions that the Danvers family are "Buffy" fans. It doesnn't actually say, but I have no doubt that they are all hard core Spuffies and have a big sign reading "Friends Don't Let Friends Ship Bangel" hanging over the mantle.

(Feel free to roll your eyes at this point)
