I'll comment on this thread properly later after I've considered the movie.

Anyone seen it? I just watched it and I have no words.

I've seen it and absolutely loved it. I love psychological movies like that. Combined with ballet (which I adore), the movie kept my interest the entire time. Natalie Portman was also brilliant. I know it's not the kind of movie for everyone though because some of friends saw it and really hated it.

Heard so much about this movie but not seen it yet. Will drag one of my friends watching it when I get the chance as it's my turn to pick the movie next lol 😀

This is how I initially reviewed it. Still think the same.

Black Swan. Uncomfortable. Intense. Visceral.

Natalie Portman is a revelation

Just watched it, was very excited to see it and Natalie Portman was stunning in this role, very intense, very dark, plays with the mind a bit. Its definitely not for everyone but if your in the mood for something different that will leave you thinking then its worthy of a watch. I noticed some touches of David Lynch in the directing.

Pretty much this! I can easily say that this is my absolute favorite movie in the past 3 years! And yes, I do think that it was better than Inception! 😛 Natalie Portman was just spectacular in it. I don't think any other actress could have played her part any better. She can do the nice and innocent girl, and the evil lady as well. She's amazing. I love how it's a psychological thriller.
I love how the entire movie, is pretty much a new real life version of the original story of Swan Lake, which is what the ballet she is dancing for is about. How she has to battle her inner demons and how she wants to strive for perfection, just like the swan does in the story. EPIC!

Haven't seen it? Do it. I promise you won't regret it.

Hey, now. Inception was one of the best of the year too, lol! And, I will cry if Natalie doesn't get nominated for an Oscar. It was her best performance to date IMO.

YES!!!! 😀 I'm so glad you saw it how I did!!!! 😀
a modern, but darker take on the classical story of Swan Lake.

LOL yeah well she was nominated for 4 Golden Globes and the film was nominated for 10 People's Choice or something like that. Extraordinary, especially since it's the most nominations any film has ever gotten in history!

If this film, or Natalie, don't win any awards, I might slit my wrists!!

I saw it and loved it. It was very odd movie but I enjoyed watching the lines of reality being blurred and I think this is Natalie Portman's best performance yet.

She's pretty much a shoe in for the win at the globes (today! 😀) and she is nearly 100% locked in for an Oscar nom.

I liked the movie, but I think the first half pales in comparison to the second half. I don't really like ballet so I wasn't exactly excited to watch in the first half. The only good things about the first half was Natalie, Barbara and Mila's brilliant acting.

Barbara, Mila and Natalie were brilliant in this movie. Winona was great but so much more could've been done with the character but the scene where she stabs herself inthe face, I just couldn't...It was interesting but I dunno, and then she saw Beth in her apartment I was FREAKING out. xD

I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait to watch. I love Natalie Portman, and have heard nothing but rave reviews about her performance in this!

Sooooo happy Natalie Portman won a Golden Globe for this! 😀 I'm planning on going to see it again on Friday. And let me just say that I most definitely will own the blu-ray when it comes out!

Went and saw this with my person for our anniversary last night and OH MY GOD. I knew Natalie Portman was a good actress, but this performance took her to a whole new level! She was genius! I don't think anyone else could have been better. She was just amazing. This movie was kind of like A Beautiful Mind to me. Made me think. I adore it, and it is, without a doubt, the best movie I've seen in years.

I herd a lot of stuff about it and decided to give it a shot, im so glad i did because it was such a great film. It isnt the sort of film im usually interested in but I give this film i definite 10/10. Natalie Portmans performance was outstanding, she so deserves an Oscar for this film.

I just saw it today and I liked it, but it was very weird and creepy. Some of the scenes in it are intense, but it was very well written and Natalie Portman is an amazing actress.

I saw this tonight - wow.

It was amazing. Emotionally draining and really intense.

At the end, after the
fade to white
, the whole cinema was just silent. Usually with films there's a hum of conversation that gets louder as soon as the credits roll, but with this film there was silence, with almost everyone sitting and staring at the screen for a couple of minutes.

Quite often with films my interest wanders in some scenes but I was entranced by every moment of this one.

I don't really have any other words to sum it up other than - wow.

That's what happened in my cinema too, everyone was asking if it was really over!
I'm really eager to go and see it, the storyline sounds so interesing and unusual, and I find ballet fascinating, so that's a plus, too. I love Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, so they're also a definite factor which make me want to see it. I'm pretty certain no-one I know will be willing to see it with me, but it wouldn't be the first time I've been to see a movie by myself...It definitely looks good enough for me to do so.
