I just saw an article over at the BBC Cult site about the possibility that Blackadder may be coming back for a fifth series.
I'm a massive fan of the original shows and have been ever since i was at school so this is really good news to me. I'd always hoped that they would decide to to another series, especially as there was a good chance that the next one would have been set in modern times, or as late as the sixties or seventies perhaps, given that Blackadder Goes Forth was set during World War One. Whatever era they choose to go with though, as long as they get all the original cast back, particularly Rowan Atkinson and Tony Robinson obviously, it is bound to be funny.
I should mention that this is still unconfirmed but given that this is a BBC property and that it was mentioned at a BBC website i think it is a strong possibilty that they are dropping hints to see what the public reaction would be. If you are a fan it might be a good idea to drop the Beeb an email saying that you would love to see it come back. At least then there will be one television show that makes paying the license fee worthwhile! 😉
