A few questions after having been blogging for a week now...

What are your thoughts on blogs?

Do you have a blog?
  • If so, what do you blog about and who do you share your blog posts with?

Have you ever blogged?

Now I'd love to see your blog.
I used to have a few different blogs over the years. I'd post religiously for a few weeks and then they'd just sit there with no further posts. I'd just forget about them. That's very me though, to be well into something and then move on to the next best thing....

My last blog was a baking blog. I baked for a few weeks, haven't baked since.

I like reading blogs but writing them, well, clearly I'm not cut out for it!

I blog, sometimes. It started with a commentary (on trends in advice to parents regarding infant sleep) with the intention of getting it published in a magazine or newspaper. After a couple of failed attempts I realised that I was too lazy to do the work needed if you want to get published. Instead, I started a blog. I blogged at Livejournal to begin with, sometimes in Norwegian and sometimes in English. After a while, I moved my Norwegian stuff to wordpress. I have a blog there that I update when I feel like it. It's my playground. It's where I put stuff I write when the itch to write is strong enough to give more of a result than all the scribbles my life is filled with.

Recently, I started moving old English LJ notes over to Wordpress, and added a translation of something I had written in Norwegian (about "Deutschland 83") so a friend could read it in English. That's not more than an archive, though. Should it be of interest to anyone, feel free to ask. (Not @GwenRaiden, because my D83 post would spoil you beyond measure.) I also have a current project going, "Oker, sot og blod" , where I post poems with horses in them. (Not my own poetry, in case someone was in doubt.) The blog is Norwegian, but I sometimes post English, Swedish, Danish or German poetry.

Oh, and I play a little on Tumblr.

@Taake , that's because @Mr. Pole is faster than Lucky Luke.

Link works for me :)
How have I managed to live my life never having been exposed to (wait, does that sound wrong) Lucky Luke before!?!

Not until 8 and 20 this AM.

@Professor Walsh It could possibly be that I was never really allowed to watch "kid's stuff"... but I dont think it was shown over here.

Really? He is a childhood staple here.
We always read the albums. Come to think about it, I suppose there are enough cowboys there already, imported Belgian cowboy comics would probably have been a very small niche.

If it were a belgian chocolate cowboy it probably would be a different story.

Boufay Summers has heard of the bleeding comic strip. Oh my word. I am losing some major rep points now. Gah.

I have a tumblr but that's all. I've never got into blogging, mostly because I don't think I've got anything of interest to say lol.

I did have LiveJournal maybe 5 or 7 years ago. A few people (BB members) followed and read it but in all honesty I mostly just used it to get some things off my chest instead of keeping it inside. I was never good at sharing stuff, be it personal or stuff that bugged me in general. So I tried it out for a bit but I doubt it got over 20 entries all and all. I did however manage to write something that got someone to threatening to send Interpol on me...

As Professor Walsh mentioned he was a big thing over here. Not so much anymore. On the other hand Dr. Seuss was never a big thing when I grew up so it's all a matter where you grow up. Not everything is as international as we may think.
