I almost feel embarrassed by this but I get really inspired to write some fanfiction every so often, and I'd like to do it more regularly. So for those of you who either write fan fic or just have a blog, which site do you recommend and why?

Thankies.

Blogspot=easier

Wordpress= Infinitely more powerful and expressive but harder to use.

Its a simple choice based on your experience. Not much more discussion required.

Live Journal is the best place for posting fanfic. There are so many different communities for different pairings.

All my fic gets posted on LJ at so many different communities. It's the best way to get feedback.

^ I agree that LJ is a great place to post fanfic. A lot of writers seem to "gather" there, so you'll get a lot more hits from interested readers.

I also used fanfiction.net when I was starting to write, it's not a "blog-style" website but if you're looking for feedback you have a pretty good chance of getting it there. You just make an account and then upload your stories chapter by chapter, and the way all of the stories are categorized it's easy for others to find your stuff.

You could always try a couple different websites and see which you like best, too. It's not going to hurt to get your writing out there in a few different places, and then once you've gotten familliar with them you can decide which community works best for you. 🙂

Yeah, I love posting my fic at Livejournal and Fanfiction.net. Another good place to go is Yahoo Groups--they have all kinds of groups for different TV shows and pairings and you can usually get some good reviews that way too.

I don't write any fanfic as of late, but I use Blogspot for my personal blogs... It's very easy to use and it looks great! 🙂

Oh yea sorry, if its fanfic, its definately got to be livejournal... to a point

There is an exception, if you know what your doing, Wordpress allows for your own site to become very successful with far more freedom that LJ. Blogspot is a wordpress for dummies and livejournal is an effective tool for writing that WP can easily match. If you know how, wordpress has the power to be a popular blog with millions of hits and maintain ease of functionality...LJ and BS both begin to suffer as a blog becomes more popular. It depends on your market and how expressive you want to be. I'll still stand by WP= ultimate freedom.

I agree with Silum. For ease of use, blogspot is the way to go. I have both blogspot (well, blogger.com, same thing) and Wordpress blogs. Wordpress is more like having a website. It's more customizable, more scaleable, etc., and you can tweak almost endlessly to get exactly the look, feel and layout you want. I've never used LiveJournal, but I can see how the format might be better for posting fan fic. If you want to take the time to learn how to use Wordpress, tho, I'd go with that. If not, and you just want a few user-controlled options and ease of use, I'd go with LJ or Blogger.

You have a blog? Where??
Virtually all of my fanfic is posted here.
I used to use LJ but I had so many problems with removing old stories that I gave up with the site. I have used Jossverse quite a bit as I can write the full width and that is how it appears. The only problem with that site is I am the only one doing any fanfic.
I also put some fanfics on Dollhouse, when I first joined I thought I'd be cheeky and I tried to have the username ECHOES, it got accepted! I really thought all versions of Echo would have been used.

I'd go with either Livejournal or Fanfiction.net.
