For anyone that's seen Harriet the Spy starring a young Michelle Trachtenberg, there is a scene after she's been betrayed by her friends where she rips up her diaries and throws them in the trash. A scarily identical scene occurs in Blood Ties and Buffy later reveals she's been keeping the diaries since she was seven...

Anyone else notice this or think it's a little homage to Michelle's earlier film?

Wow, nice observation! I completely forgot about that movie! I remember seeing it in theaters when it came out! Sounds like it could totally be a reference to that.

I remember going to the cinema to watch that but I can't actually remember the film. I must have been really young at the time. I did immediately recognise Michelle when she first came onto Buffy though, just didn't realise that that's where I'd seen her from.

YES! My husband and I tripped out at the little similarities, that one especially!!!

First off a childhood favorite recently re-watched it and loved it still today. Now that I think about it the scene was like it. If it was a kind of reference that is fine with me.
