will pass close to earth on Saturday, I say close, it'll be on the earth side of the moon. A bit bigger than Ben Nevis.

Where can we see it from? Soon they'll be sending rockets up to catch a lift on it.

From New York Times:
On Saturday, at 9:46 a.m. Eastern time, it will zip by Earth at 75 percent of the distance to the moon. If you have a decent backyard telescope or perhaps even with some good binoculars, and your skies are cloud-free, you could see the 400- to 850-foot rock as a speck of light zipping across the starry sky ahead of the sun coming up.
So around midnight in Australia?

An even bigger rock just zipped past us on Thursday, but it was farther away. I'm glad someone is monitoring these asteroids, so maybe we can stop the one that doesn't pass by!

In theory, given enough time, we can stop them; the smaller the rock, the less time needed. There have still been some smaller rocks that are big enough to cause a dent that we have not spotted until after they have missed the planet.

I just saw a photo on Twitter, apparently from a previous astroid. So if that's true, we're already hitching a ride on them.

I just think it would be funny if they got the maths wrong.

Should the figures be of straight numbers then they should have used Arithmetic, all things considered though
if the numbers are wrong we won't be here to state who the dippo's are.

I guess they got it right cos we're still here!
