If anybody bothered to think anything about it at all after the whole thing was over, they probably just dismissed Jasmine as some kind of crazy cult leader that was around for awhile, then disappeared again. Typical Los Angeles/Hollywood craziness. Blotting out the sun? Raining fire? Just the news media's exaggerating an unusually heavy cloud cover, and some sort of publicity stunt or joke by the Weather Department.
Everyone was in denial, just like they always were in Sunnydale. "What really happened isn't what we saw, and what we really saw never happened." That sort of thing. At the most, it would have all been attributed to some kind of accidental release of hallucinogenic drugs into the water supply by the military or CIA.
