After lots of discussion and consideration spanning months, actually, we have decided to re-open the [HASHTAG]#buffyboards[/HASHTAG] chat room for your use at all times.

HOWEVER

If the chat becomes a problem it will be closed permanently. So the continued existence of the chat is up to all of you.

If any bullying occurs. If any clique-ish behavior occurs. If there is any badmouthing of other members, the staff, or the board itself. If there is any use of the chat to spam about another site, forum, or chat. If inappropriate conversations occur in the chat - the chat will be closed. This also goes for "shadow" chat rooms where our members go to complain about the board. I am not going to put up with problems on the board that come from the chat. If you don't like this site or how it's run, there are plenty of other Buffy boards for you to go to - I am not going to let those who try to disrupt our community and badmouth the board remain as members here and it is not their right to be members here.

The mods will be in there as much as they possibly can, but it is on YOUR shoulders to keep things in line in there. If you experience anything in there that shouldn't be happening, I expect each of you to report it to the staff.

The chat should be fun and a nice way to build friendships - not a way to make others feel hurt and to destroy the board community. Please use it for the purpose to which it is intended if you don't want to lose it.

lol, I logged in through mibbit.com and there was no one there, sat there for 10 mins wondering why it was so quiet before I realized I had forgotten to select the right server - fail.

If you have a look in the FAQ it will give you the various options - here

But probably the quickest way would be to go to www.mibbit.com

On their home page select 'Launch Mibbit WebChat'

Then select VBIRC[webirc] from the dropdown menu

Enter in your Nickname (you should also register it with a password, instructions can be found in the FAQ link above)

and for the channel enter #buffyboards

And select 'Go'

and you'll be entered into the chatroom straight away 🙂
 
I'm guessing a lot of people don't log on. I've tried 3 times today and no one is ever on 🙁

I blame you and your overuse of emoticons.. it's sad, really. I was, honestly lost, when the chat was first closed, but since then I have actually gotten in the habit of working and now it's back havent been more than twice. It would be sad if it weren't around next time I have time.

Sidenote: Buffy Summers, I still haven't forgiven you for shutting the board down the day before my birthday two years on the trot.
