Okay, so I just saw this commercial for some bogus 'Family Fun Night' crapload ... and it reminded me of those board games that you love to play ... or just play when you're really bored.

Anyway, pick one of these more popular board games. I probably forgot a few, so I included 'Other'.

I'd probably go for Clue. God, I can never get enough of that game ... :dork:

My family actually did the board game night so it's not a total crapload. I loved playing clue/monopoly/scrabble. We always bought a new game every Christmas and It was neat.....No I didn't grow up on the waltons. I suck at scrabble nowadays though but I still think its fun to play board games every so often. 😀

I wish my family did the game night thing when I was still living with them. But they were all too busy working ... I don't know what that's all about ... so every night I'd end up playing monopoly all by myself ... And yet, I don't ever remember winning ... Hmm ... :sigh:

The Game of Life is a trip. You can put your wife in the front seat and have her drive you around chauffeur-style. Or you can be a dismally-employed good-for-nothing and by some fluke get $90,000 a year! When I play with my more creative friends we'll give the kids weird names like Pubert and Habbukuk. I really like this LOTR:Risk I got for Christmas last year, but no one really has time to play it, or really wants to . . . There's nothing like commanding a legion of plastic orcs to make a guy feel empowered. :bounce:

I like Sorry and Trivial Pursuit....Sorry because the point of the game is to be wicked 😀 and Trivial Pursuit because I know so many lil factoids I usually win 😀 I have the 20th Anniversary Edition and the Pop Culture DVD edition. Both rock

always, nice, kind, and has a NY accent, what more could we ask for?
I said the Game of Life....i also like Scattegories though, but I'm not sure if that would be considered a board game or not...I guess it would be.

Well...considering Monopoly is the only one Ive heard of from that list...I guess I'll have to choose that, lol...

I really wanna play the Game of Life...sounds like fun...Anya fun, yaaaay!

Hehe I hope you're happy this post inspired me to go to games.yahoo.com and play their version of scrabble (literati) and loose missserably 🙁

I tend to win when I play games alone...due to the fact that I have "cheat till you win" rule for myself heh.

My family was busy as well but iono it's one of those lame things we tried to make time for ever so often and competition is good for you. Unless you loose..... 🙂

I'm going with yahtzee, but I much prefer cards to board games.

Me too. There's nothing like slapping your cards down on the table in any game and watching the looks of pain/defeat on peoples faces when you have a good hand. heh of course I'm a bit sadistic that way.😉

Trivial Pursuit 'cos I'm a right old smartarse and I rarely lose - it's about the only game that happens 🙂

Oh my I am the board game queen. Every friday night my two best friends (who are married) come over for board game fun (or Xbox game fun..whatever we're in the mood for).

In the poll I voted for Clue (I have the Simpsons Clue!)

I also LOVE:

Cranium (the special edition: with four times the clay!!!!) 😀
Trivial Pursuit DVD edition
Trivial Pursuit the last 20 years (Canadian edition)
13 Dead End Drive (teehee)
Taboo
Scrabble (can't beat a classic)
Whovillopoly (Monopoly Grinch style!)

Oh sooo many more but I forget right now.

I Love monopoly, I am a real capitalist when it comes to board games..
And clue, I'm really good at that.
And this game.. it's called "Rappa Kalja" in Swedish.. You are supposed to discribe words to the other person on your team.. heh, I'm good at that too..

(I would like TP if I wasn't so bad at it, I can't answer any of the questions..)

Oh I also forgot this really great game called Gender Gap. It's like trivial pursuit with male and female oriented questions. Categories like automotive, home improvement, and such for the male questions, and cooking, home fashion, and such for the female questions. And both have a relationships category.

The kicker is...the guys have to answer the girls questions, the girls answer the guys questions!! The guys have NEVER won..and we've even changed to answer our own gender-oriented questions (the guys thought that we were getting easier questions). LOL

Oh, I love board games! Sometimes I am so hard up to play one that I have been known to play Monopoly by myself! lol I have owned Clue for years and love that one! It somehow always keeps it's thrill! Does anybody remember Trouble? I used to love that one!
