Bones made me watch Angel

Yesh, it's trueeeee.

I knew the guy from Angel, and I liked Angel, but just like Buffy I just didn't get into it. And that's because I was busy with my web design company. No time for tv, really. Things have finally changed, and I am dedicating hours of my day watching good tv. How could I not watch Bones on TV, and then not go : I should watch Angel again.

Time to order the box set.. S01, get ready, I am about to consume some popcorn.
 
"Angel" is a great show... It helps to have the backstory of the characters first (i.e. watching BtVS) but it's also one of those shows that you can watch if you have never heard of these characters before. 🙂
It's darker and grittier than Buffy, but very very cool. And David Boreanaz is amazing. 😀

My advice would be to watch the first 3 seasons of Buffy before watching Angel. Not start watching the shows together in order is possible. I think there is a thread on this board that will help you do that.

I've seen all of Angel but not Bones...It looks good though and I love DB as an actor🙂 Drool 😉

If you liked the moments in "angel" where DB got to show his comedic side, you'd love his character on "Bones" :)
I've never watched Bones either, i've heard good things about it though and the fact its still running after five series leads me to believe that it might be worth a watch.

Yes. But wouldn't it be cool to see how someone would view Angel if they never saw Buffy? Would they give him the same respect? Hmmm...It would be how Angel would want it. Seen as his own Superhero, kicking evils ASS! Of course, he wouldn't be who he is today withour Buffy and Floris you should know that! Will you love I Will Remember you as much as I do???
 
It's easy enough to watch Angel without seeing Buffy. My sister is watching it at the moment without having seen Buffy. Granted she does have me to steer her around the corners (ie. explain who Faith, Wesley, Darla, etc are).
 
I'am not saying you can't solely watch Angel but in terms of understanding the story i think its beneficial to watch both shows simultaneously.
 
I say watch Angel and then Buffy. I'd like to here thoughts of someone watching it in that order. But once you've done that you'll watch both shows as they should be watched. Over and over again.😀


And for those not watching Bones. Get started.
 
While I was waiting for my buffy-box
I was going through my Bones collection, and noticed I missed a few episodes. I got those on the DVR and waiting for some free time.
Going to start on Buffy s01 e01 tonight!

I think I'll leave the cons to someone else. 😉

The characters (David is better as Booth than Angel) and the interactions between them.
The humour. It's not sitcom but still funny.
You'll find out why Jesus is a zombie. Or why he isn't.
You'll get two ways of seeing human behavior and that's never a bad thing. Not eveyone will find that as interesting as me though.
It's crimes solving in a new way which is refreshing after all the CSI spin offs.
A guy from ZZ Top plays a surprising role. 😀
Sam is in it. Yes that was crytpic on purpose.

Should be lots more but if you're not into liking characters and good and fun interaction between them I can forgive you for now watching so it would be a waste of my time.
 
I got into Bones in season 3 after watching Buffy and Angel. I went and watched it and absolutely adored it. It has wit and is overall good.

I do think that watching Angel helped me though because even though Angel had his funny moments it was so nice to see David as Booth kind of like best of both worlds if that makes sense.
 
Bones season finale was just on, omg, what an ending. OH NOOOOOESSS..

we will see how it continues from here. I guess season's over, I can go start watching Angel now.
 
I was watching and loving Bones way before I started watching Buffy or Angel. I love Bones. It's an awesome show. The characters are so cool and Brennan and Booth are great together. I'm not an obsessive Booth and Brennan fan who wants to see them married and having babies RIGHT NOW because I like their work relationship and the underlying sexual tension, but I do love them and know they'll get together eventually. I can't wait for season 6 to start. In fact, I like them as a couple better than Angel and Buffy.

If anybody hasn't watched Bones, you should. 🙂
 
Hmmm kinda the same with me... I had watched a few episodes of Angel, but didn't really follow it. A couple of years later I got into Bones in a big way (Emily Deschanel is HOT) and recognised Angel. Then I saw Angel (the show) as I was flicking through channels and decided to watch a bit. From there I fell in love with AtS and watched all five seasons. Then I ended up buying the whole Buffy boxset. Then I ended up addicted to this forum. It's a slippery, slippery slope... *shakes head somberly*
