Good news for Bones fans!
Not only do they have the birth of Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel)'s baby to look forward to April 2, but on Thursday, FOX announced plans for a full eight season pickup.

"Over the past seven seasons, [executive producers] Hart Hanson, Stephen Nathan and the incredible Bones cast and crew have redefined the traditional crime procedural with an irreverent and adventurous sensibility and I'm really happy to have this distinctive, fan-favorite on our schedule for another season," FOX's Entertainment President Kevin Reilly told Us Weekly in a statement.

The procedural -- which will celebrate its 150th episode during season 8 -- was aired on a shorter schedule this year to accommodate Deschanel's pregnancy, which was written into the show.

Deschanel and her husband, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's David Hornsby, welcomed son Henry in September 2011.
 
I love Bones, I'm so glad its being renewed. I cant wait for it to re-start, there's only so many old episodes I can watch 🙂
 
Sweet! this is the best news all day! More Bones, Baby Bones, Bones this Week! Bones Bones Bones! So excited! Yay! I've been liking the crossover The Finder but I miss Bones and Booth they def have not been on enough this year which makes news of another season so awesome 😀 :skip:
 
Lol at [MENTION=11775]strawberryeve[/MENTION]! I too am very happy for them and so excited for this week's return of new episodes. Oh, and I've been pleasantly surprised by the Finder. I mean, I liked the Bones episode, but im liking the series a lot more than I thought I would.
 
Not surprised but still glad to get it confirmed.

As for The Finder I manage to miss that it started airing but I've watched al episodes this week. Sillier/More fun than Bones but so far I'm enjoying it a lot.
 
I've found this article that says that Bones has been signed for 2 more seasons but David Boreanaz hasnt:

Fox Exec Expects David Boreanaz To Stay On 'Bones'

David Boreanaz created some fan worry when he said he is a free agent after this season of “Bones.” You need only read between the lines to imagine he’s either considering a departure, or holding out for more money. Either case could be bad news for Fox if they can’t make a deal with him.

After a Television Critics Association executive session, Fox President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly stated that he had every expectation that Boreanaz would stay with “Bones.”

“We’re negotiating with David,” said Reilly. “I don’t expect that to be the case [that he’s leaving.]”

Reilly added that he’s already ordered two more seasons of “Bones,” so he certainly did that under the impression that the cast would remain intact.

“‘Bones’ has really been one of the mainstays of the schedule and we have picked it up for two more years, this being the first of a two year deal. I certainly would expect David to be a part of it.”

I can't imagine Bones without DB.

Does anybody else read the Kathy Reichs' Temperance Brennan novels? I just finished the 7th one, and I was wondering how the show would be if they had kept the original setting (Montreal and Charlotte, NC) and the original supporting characters. American audiences probably wouldn't have bought it, what with a French-Canadian setting and a foreign language. @@ I love the books, but I definitely miss the Squints. They're just different "flavors".
 
That's neat to hear. I like David Boreanaz a lot, but I've actually never seen Bones. It's one of those shows I always keep making mental notes to watch, but I never have. It's kind of hard to believe that when the eighth season of Bones is completed, David will have played that character just as long as Angel. Not many actors have that kind of constant stability in their careers.

Still, it's cool to see that Angel's doing well. I always like seeing former (and hopefully future 🙂) Buffyverse actors do well.
