In the crossover event no one actually cares about, more details have emerged...

Here it is...


The plot:



In an episode that is said to "thrill the living, the dead, and everything in between," Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) will cross paths with Ichabod (Tom Mison) and Abbie (Nicole Beharie) after the discovery of some pretty grisly human remains. Naturally, they find that they're after the same evidence, because otherwise there is no single possible reason for these two crime-fighting teams to exist in the same universe, let alone team up for answers.

In the crossover's second hour, in a storyline that appears to be wholly unrelated to that of the first hour, Ichabod's former nemesis -- who is most definitely not the Headless Horseman (sad face emoji)--is back from the dead and Abbie and Ichabod seek out Booth and Brennan for advanced forensics to stop him. Because, sure, why not?

"When the idea came about to create this crossover event for fans, our writers' room was immediately energized," Sleepy Hollow executive producer Clifton Campbell said in a statement. "The creative freedom to merge these two worlds which, at face value, seem so different; but at their core have such striking similarities--mystery, intrigue and methodical deduction, wrapped up in such strong character partnerships--was a challenge that we all welcomed, and we believe that fans of both series will be very satisfied by the result. It was a terrific collaborative experience across the board and we are eager to see the fan reaction to Ichabod and Abbie working alongside Brennan and Booth."​

"The Bones/Sleepy Hollow crossover is like a great episode of The X-Files, where the Bones hour is the Scully, logic-based perspective and the Sleepy Hollow hour is more Fox Mulder-esque," Bones executive producer Michael Peterson said in a statement of his own. "Put them together, and it's going to be a great two-hour event that fans of both programs are going to love."​
 
In years gone past I would look at the TV program guide to know when to change channels so that I could watch specific programs. The Bones/ Sleepy Hollow falls into that scenario with one similar objective. I'd still buy the TV guide to know when to change channel but with the added intention of avoiding that program at all costs.

ahaha.. no really. No, actually I don't think there is any chance at all it could work. And it's not like it's even a two-partner so there is no incentive to watch the other show.
 
This sounds worse than the ridiculously bad times I have to put up with SVU invading Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. Like, this makes me think less of both shows.
 
Bones stayed as a good show in my mind when the show was about their work, then some bright spark began to make the show about the characters, I didn't bother with it after then. But with Sleepy Hollow it could have been good but they made variations on what was but without any logical reason. Maybe David B. wants to be a vampire in Sleepy Hollow.. .. ..
 
Doesn't seem like a very good idea to me, simply because, once you establish that the supernatural/occult world exists in the "Bones" universe, it can never again be removed. That wouldn't be so bad if it somehow involved some sort of parallel time line (bad enough, I know, but certainly a way to keep the two two realities intact) that left Boone and Booth wondering if the whole thing was just a very realistic shared dream.

The next thing you know, Bones will be called away to some consulting job in Los Angeles, where she'll meet this P I who has set himself upon the task of helping the helpless...
 
That makes it sound as if the bosses at Bones are looking for a new direction to take the show in.
 
I think it's utterly bizarre to suddenly, after ten years of TV, put Bones in a supernatural world. Even if only for two hours.
Like WhiteAvenger said they can't remove it once it's there. Which means that the Bones universe now operates in a supernatural universe, however on the fringe it might be. It's just... off-putting to me.

And see.. THERE.. I would have had no issue with a Bones and Fringe crossover, because at least they seem like they could be similar universes.. but Bones doesn't fit. It would be like crossing over Buffy with the Gilmore Girls.
 
This episode just aired in the UK last week. I didn't understand it at all because I had never even heard of Sleepy Hollow the TV series. From watching this episode it didn't make me want to start watching the show either.

The comments that were made in the episode about the 2 main characters being like Brennan and Booth, I didn't see that resemblance at all and I didn't relate to them.

I think it was a very risky thing that they did. For fans of both shows it would have made perfect sense but to fans like me who only watch Bones I was completely lost. The whole letter scene didn't make any sense at all, so I only watched it half heartedly after that scene.
 
Well I gave up on Bones years ago, so I may not be the best judge, but Crane & Abbie are loads better than Brennan & Booth lol. BUT Sleepy Hollow has been terrible this season and I've all but given up on it, so...I feel like both these shows are past their prime.
 
Well I've only ever seen one episode of Bones and never seen Sleepy Hollow and I can tell this is a bad idea😉
