Hi guys,

I thought it would be fun to start a thread on the books that we have read so far. It would be very interesting and fun to discuss books and reading in general. I'll ask a question down below feel free to ask some more questions in your responses and we can all chat.

My question is: what you are currently reading and what are your Top 3 recommendations? Also, feel free to discuss them, especially what you loved about them. Tell me how you came across the book.

My recommendation:

1. Mafia and his angel by Lylah James
2. Echoes of the Runes by Christina Courtenay
3. Silver Bay by Jo Jo Moyes

I just finished "The End of the Chapter" by John Galsworthy, which is really three volumes in one. He is best known for "The Forsyte Saga," to which this trilogy is slightly connected. I loved "Forsyte," so have been reading a few others by him, and this didn't disappoint. He can take a dry subject and make it a page-turner - I got through its 900 pages in three weeks, which is fast for me.

I can only think of two recommendations off-hand:

"Moon of the Crusted Snow" by Waubgeshig Rice, a very readable post-apocalypic novel that takes place on a Native reservation in northern Canada. One of the best modern novels I've read in a long time.

"Kristin Lavransdatter" by Sigrid Undset, another three-in-one. What can I say, I love a big, meaty book that I can sink into and live with for a while. Kristin is a brilliantly-written very flawed heroine of 14th-century Norway.

My question to others will be: what are some books you have read that made a huge difference in your life, books where you felt you were a different person after reading them?
