Help Book or fan fiction

Hello,
I tried to read the season 8 comics, but I'm really not into comics. I was hoping somebody here knew if the story would be written like they did with the "old" Buffy books (the first episode for instance).

If not, is there a fan fiction out there, which sticks pretty close to the season 8 comics?

Hi, eyghy. First of all, welcome to Buffy-Boards! Second of all, I don't know of any plans for a novelization of the comics, and any fan-fiction sticking close enough so you'd understand what's going on would probably be plagiarized anyway (and who wants to support plagiarists?). I understand your problem; I'm not a big comic reader and the format was hard to get used to. If you want, you can browse the forums here; we have synopses of the comics that might help you at least understand what the plots are. 🙂
 
One or two of the Season 8 episodes have been animated on Youtube, you might try there. Beyond that, almost all of the post series fan fiction that I've seen dealt with what was based on what we knew as of "The Girl In Question," with Buffy cavorting around Rome with the Immortal.

I was the same, i'd never picked up a comic in my life until Joss's Season 8, but now i'm totally hooked...not on comics, just the season 8. I don't think i'll ever read another comic book that is not Buffy! 🙂 But i'm really loving the graphics, and it's just so much easier to 'picture' than fanfiction. If I were you, id give Season 8 another try, you never know, you might get into it. I've been buying the paperback versions, not the separate issues, it's a lot more like having a book version, and it flows a lot easier if you have all the issues of the arch together, not having to wait month to month to buy a new one. The first 4 paperback's are out now (Vol 1-4) which are, (roughly off the top of my head) issues 1-20. You will be able to find them on amazon etc. 🙂 They come out every 6 months or so. And they look great on your bookshelf.

Otherwise, stick to tried and true fanfiction. 🙂 I'm still on the hunt for some good season 8 fanfiction with all the new characters that we have come to love (Satsu, Renee, etc). that would make my day!
