Just finished reading, Before the gods, by K.S. Turner, it's a similar storyline to Arthur C. Clarkes Childhoods end, which I haven't read yet but want to read now, the difference is that it's more of a fantasy/sci-fi combination rather than pure sci-fi. It was an interesting read, attempting to connect the physical and spiritual levels of existence. I'd give it 7.5/10.

"Discourse in the origin of inequality" - Rosseau

If you quite liked this, a work of his that takes those ideas further is the social contract, or a more enjoyable read, I'd say, is his work the Confessions.

Just finished "The Drums of Autumn" by Diana Gabaldon.

It's fourth in the Outlander series.

10/10 . . . just like the last time I read it. 😀 The history is so well researched. Makes me happy.

I was reading the book of Isaiah but I kept getting irritated so now I'm reading "From boys to men: the formation of masculinty in medieval Europe". It's really interesting and gets into topics like chivalry etc 🙂

10/10 . . . just like the last time I read it. 😀 The history is so well researched. Makes me happy.

I started reading (more accurately, listening to the audiobooks while I drove to and from work) those when the first one came out. I've missed the last couple. And I agree, the history seems to be very well researched. Have you seen the new graphic novel?

Hmm. Very Interesting.

I actually haven't read the last three yet. I was just rereading the series to get to that point. I am reading "The Fiery Cross" for the first time right now.

I actually researched some after I read the first few books and the family tree that Jamie is a part of actually exists. Just that he's not in it. It's pretty awesome.

The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld... it's a sequel to my absolute favorite vampire novel, Peeps. Both are amazing, and I like that The Last Days is written so even if you haven't read the first book you can understand the second.

Seventeen year old Moz, a guitar player in a two-man-band, meets musical genius Pearl and they immediately begin to reform the band. Between Moz, Pearl, and Moz's friend and bandmate Zahler, they have a good start. However, with the additions of singer Minerva, aka Min, and psychic/psychopathic drummer Alana Ray, they have a full band.

However, Min has a mysterious disease- one that she's been locked up with for half a year. After she kisses Moz, he begins to contract the disease... a form of vampirism. The two work to fend off the symptoms, even as they perform for the first time, and their music calls up a monster that could shake the entire world.
