Article "Botched execution" results in 43 minute death

I can't recall the name of the movie, but there was one I saw in which vampires were like a mutation or species of their own rather than something you could spread. They hid in society, and to a degree they fit in. There were some vampire hunters, though, but slaying vampires left bodies that were investigated as homicides (IIRC). So by the end the vampire hunters are caught while a particularly progressive vampire tries to convince their council that he should be turned over to the authorities for murder (in this case Texas, probably the fastest to inflict the death penalty, and it's good politics to promise to execute more), which he could be convicted of. The vampires weren't buying it and ripped the vampire hunter(s) apart.

I remember while watching it that I'd prefer to be mauled and bled dry rather face the lethal injection. At least then my mind would shut down fast due to shock (and the adrenaline can also mute pain), but lethal injections sound horrific to me, like you're paralyzed and conscious as your heart slowly stops (quite a few people also report being uncomfortably conscious during surgery as well, though they remained paralyzed). I know if it were my choice to die, I'd choose the vampires (in that case, since they don't get your soul). Good thing for the condemned that the vampires were too stupid to realize that. 😛

I see that it left a lasting impression! lol
You'd think they'd check that the anaesthetic is working before injecting the other drugs.

I'd much prefer firing squad to lethal injection or electrocution. Sure it damages the body more but I'm selfish like that.

It wouldn't surprise me if many of these accidents were on purpose. I vaguely recall reading of one execution where they had to keep injecting the guy over and over "trying to find the right vein." We humans can be quite demonic ourselves (be it for a warped sense of justice to sheer fun), especially to those who have been dehumanized in our minds somehow.
