I'm watching every Buffy episode in order. Do I need to do the same thing with Angel in order to completely understand everything?

To understand EVERYTHING then yes you do, but if you're asking if you have to watch Angel in order to understand the storylines presented on Buffy, then no.

You don't need to watch Angel to 100% understand the crossover episodes so don't worry. I've only just watched Angel (not even finished s5) so it's fun piecing together with the crossover episodes I was so familiar with, but it's not necessary to understand the Buffy storylines 🙂

If you're asking if you should just watch it in order anyway, then yeah I would. Same goes for any TV show. Most shows are designed to be watched that way!

I am watching Angel for the first time, and I am watching it in the order it aired with BtVS. I would highly recommend it. I have had quite a few "Aha!" moments because of it!

That's a pretty good list, though I'd like to see a complete one, with the right chronology.

For example,

There is also a crossover in ''The Freshman'' in BtVS season 4 & Angel seaons 1 ''city of'', at the end of 'city of' , Angel phones Buffy but hangs up as soon as she answers. Buffy's side of the call is shown in "The Freshman".

So that would put 1x01 City of, in front of 4x01 The Freshman.

There may be other errors in the list, but that's the first I noticed, do you know if there is a chronologically correct list online?

Not trying to nitpick, I only want to have the viewing order correct for myself and other fans.
