"Bring On the Night" introduces the first three potentials, Annabelle, Molly and Kennedy and Vi (played by Felicia Day) has to wait until another episode, so in the Buffyverse, Night comes before Day.
Wouldn't that mean night came first, since before stars were formed there would have been nothing but darkness?

If you mean day and night on earth, then the answer is that both came into existence simultaneously. The earth formed from debris orbiting the sun. The very moment the object, which we now call earth, formed, there must have been both day and night, because the sun couldn't have illuminated all sides of the object at the same time.

In Genesis, (the bible not the group) Chapter 1 verse 3 And God said let there be light. Odd statement that God was meant to have created the sun and the world so he must have known there was already light. And you'd have to consider that God isn't a real thicko, he must have known that if one side of an object has light shone on it the other side of the object must be in shadow (darkness).
And the best bit.. What would River Tam have said about the page as she ripped it out of the bible.

Does that say that God created heaven between the waters?
Also in chapter 8 is: And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Does that mean that what mankind knows as night, God knew as the day?
