Hey all! OK, so I have been lurking for about a month now, but this is my very 1st post.

My name is Stephanie, I'm a working mom of 3 boys, and a huge Buffy/Whedon fan. I may be a little older than some Buffy fans (I'm 41- oops, a woman never reveals her age!). I wasn't into BtS when it was 1st on, I am a former evangelical who didn't watch a lot of TV at the time, especially not anything (gasp!) with vampires in it. I also considered it a teenage show (gag). Boy was I wrong. I started watching eps in syndication (I believe on FX?) in 2001. I used to catch it during those early morning feedings after my 1st son was born. I look back at those times fondly. 🙂 I caught some of the last season, too, and some of Angel. I kind of forgot about it for a number of years, then saw it on Logo this past spring, realized it was out on Netflix, and am now officially addicted. I'm rewatching in its entirely for the 2nd time right now, have read some of Season 8, and am looking forward to watching Firefly & Dollhouse.

I'm active on some other online forums, but this if my 1st fan forum, so I'm unsure about how everything works here, but I'm looking forward to joining y'all, especially considering the fact that my family thinks I'm nuts about the Whedonverse LOL. Is it OK if I just jump into the episode discussions of do you need a certain # of posts to do that?

Thanks! 🙂 I've had a lot of time on my hands, being summer break and all, but we'll have to see how much time I have to post when school starts next week, heh-heh.

Welcome to BB, you'll fit right in and you're definitely not the oldest around, so don't you worry 😉 And you just go ahead and jump right into discussions!
 
Hey, welcome welcome! Now we have a VisionGirl to go with VisionGuy! Lol. Fan forums aren't really different from other ones, except we're pretty passionate about Buffy - but trust me, after a while you'll feel right at home! 😀

Hey- quick question: how do I add a comment to someone's post? I dont mean reply to or quote a post, but the little comments that can be seen under some posts? Also, where does one get banners? Thanks!
 
There is a little scales thingy at the top of every post that, if you hover over it with your mouse, says "Add to XYZ's reputation". You click that one and voila you can type in your karma comment.

We have an Art forum (which can be found here - Art Class - Buffy-Boards) where our artier members post their stuff, not just banners, but those too. People are usually okay with their banners being used even though it's always nice to ask first. There's also an Official Banner Makers List. Just be sure to keep it within the signature rules 😉

If you want someone to show you the ropes around the forum, I'd suggest getting yourself adopted. And even if you don't, it's always good to have someone you can turn to - Bad Eggs - Buffy-Boards
 
Welcome to the boards! And you're by no means the oldest person around here and anyway, when it comes to Buffy age simply doesn't matter 🙂 hope you enjoy the place and post often.

Welcome to BB, its great to see a new face age is irrelavent. We are all fans of the same show that's all that matters. :smile3:
 
Welcome to BB! And you're not too old to be on here at all. Also, 41 isn't old to me even if I'm still a teenager!
