So, I've been wondering, since we all have awesome taste in television, has anybody given Breaking Bad a shot? Are their any fans here? Haven't the slightest idea what it's about? It's the story about Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who soon discovers that he has advanced lung cancer. With his world coming apart at the seams, he turns to a life of crime, by creating and selling meth with his former student, bad boy and drug dealer Jesse Pinkman, in order to secure his family's financial needs before he dies. And holy freaking shititake mushrooms, is it amazing. Bryan Cranston plays this dark and conflicted character soooo well. He's won best actor Emmy awards every single year since its debut. And to think, this is the same guy who played Malcolm's father in "Malcolm in The Middle". It's extremely fascinating to watch the evolution of his character who goes from every day middle man, to a drug lord. From Mr. Brady to Scarface. And the supporting characters each have their own backstory, with character development to boot. So deep, so brilliant, so suspenseful, and so awesome. I actually bought the first season set on a whim, because a good friend of mine on another Buffy forum encouraged me to try it, and after that, I quickly bought the rest. I cannot recommend this series enough. Automatically in my top 5 shows of all time.

I just started season 2. This show is fascinating, and addictive, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are probably the best partners I have seen on TV. I can't even describe it's awesomeness in words...you just have to watch it

My friend, who's not really a TV kind of guy, considered it to be the best thing he has ever seen in his life. And it's hard not to agree with him. 😉

I got into it late last year. [MENTION=11693]Living Dead Boy[/MENTION] - Like you, I brought the first season on dvd on a whim. I'd heard how awesome it was, so I thought I would give it a try. I pretty much devoured the first 3 seasons in a few weeks. I can't wait for season 4 to come out on dvd since I missed it when it was on tv.

You guys are right, it is totally addictive 🙂 I recently let some friends borrow my dvds and now they are all addicted too 🙂

I mostly listen to what people say, and then I buy it, and I really end up regretting it. But I trusted this fellow Buffy fan's advice, and it is one of the best decisions I've made. But I hate that I'm so spoiled about what happened in season 4. Not totally, but I do know of one crucial event. The whole thing about BB is that you never know what to expect, so imagine my disappointment. 😉 But we should definitely do a watch together when the new and final season airs this summer. Aren't you excited? 😀

[MENTION=8277]ItMustBeBunnies[/MENTION] yeah, 16 episodes I believe. That's good, more BB goodness, and it would be a wonderful way to flesh things out. But that's one of the reasons why I love this series so much, is that it feels sooo real. Things aren't wrapped up in a couple of episodes. The suspense literally kills me sometimes, because the writers take their time to give these characters life. Like remember the episode in the first season, when Walt and Krazy-8 were having that insanely deep conversation in the basement, just before Walter had to....you know. The suspense was literally choking me to death, but the conversation was so deep, and you could really tell that this was a man at a crossroads, and he had to make some very difficult decisions. Sorry if I ramble, I just love the show so much. 😀

I'm not crazy about it, IMO there aren't many likable characters, but for some reason I continue to watch it. I guess it is pretty addictive lol.

These aren't perfect people. Walter was at a crossroads about his cancer, and in a moment of blind judgement, he chose the absolute worst path to choose. But IMO, that's what makes it all the more compelling. He just sinks into murkier waters episode after episode, decision after decision, and I cannot stop watching. 😀

We watched it in my chemistry class senior year after finals week. I just started watching it again recently on Netflix and yes, it's amazing. I had the coolest chem teacher in school.

Still, as unlike able as many of the characters are I'm still curious about what will happen next and how long they can keep everything up.

I really liked Jane, I wish she was still around.

Breaking Bad is simply brilliant. My brother, my dad and I got into it towards the end of last year, though we'd owned the first two seasons on DVD since a long time before then. I've watched up to and including season 4 now and it gets more and more addictive. I can't wait for season 5. I love Jesse. And Saul is just classic. 😀

So that's what she's from!!! I knew I'd seen her in something, but I couldn't quite remember what. Veronica Mars is one of my favourite shows, too. Recently joined by Breaking Bad. 😀

Agreed. I think its sort of the same reason why I'm a fan of Six Feet Under. On both shows, the majority of the characters can be really awful. They make bad decisions and aren't really likeable people. But, that's what makes it more realistic.

And, I liked Jane too. I recognised her straight away from Veronica Mars 🙂

[MENTION=8277]ItMustBeBunnies[/MENTION] see, that's one thing that I love about my favorite television shows, they're all connected in someway. My fav shows, which is the all four Whedon shows, plus Veronica Mars and Breaking Bad, they all are connected, especially when it comes to actors popping up. Did you know that the both Jesse and Jane came from VM? Jesse was that guy in the season one episode, "Silence of the Lamb", the guy in the motel who videotaped girls and then......well.... did inappropriate things to himself. 😀 I consider Veronica Mars to be cannon to the Whedonverse. Yeah, a far stretch, but two Whedonverse characters ended up on the show, not to mention Whedon himself. Plus, they're so much alike to me, only one deals with murder and car theft, and the other deals with werewolves and witches. 😀
