Bring on the First Evil!

I truly dislike the world revolving around the potential slayers. Episode after episode of these 4-5 fourteen-year-old girls who I cannot warm up to at all. Perhaps the hallowness of their characters could be overlooked if the acting was any good, but the "British" one can't even retain an English accent for more than 1.5 lines. Why don't they sit down and let the teenagers develop their characters?

Besides, I don't understand how Buffy transcended into the role of "teacher." What does she sit up in her room memorizing those little lectures she gives the Slayers in Training? She went from a world of mostly quiet nights on the prow to dictating her every move to a bunch of teenagers. She suddenly has the presence of a Watcher and it is forming this icky stigma around the past few episodes.

I hope these "training episodes" end soon. I'm sure that 7-12 was just filler, but I can't stand much more of this. There's no thrills! I know that the SIT's won't die, and if they did I couldn't be distraught because I don't think anyone is attached to them. I know Buffy won't die...not yet anyway. Bring on the First Evil already! Who is with me?

I'm with ya completely. I'd retained my patience up to this week, tonight I was just like "Ohh come on". When Dawn ran away I was like oh boy here goes season 5 all over again.

lol...dawn running away...i think thats part of her contract....i can understand dawn running away when she first poofed....but now...she's no green horn....she got some experience...and a tad bit more maturity...so running away is a bunch of crap and those laxy bitch writers better start respecting the characters they create...

Exactly Soul. They've been telling us all season Dawn has matured and is no longer the whining little idiot. Yet they completely throw her character back to that at points in this episode. I've been defending Dawn's character for awhile. This episode just made me feel like an moron for ever defending her.

Are you guys never going to learn, Dawn will always be the little cry baby! ... I haven't seen the episode yet, but her running away, almost makes me not want to watch anymore!

Anyway I'm sure they will reward our patience in time, but with these training eps, they can show us the SITs characters!

Well, since the UberVamp/uberweapon was killed, I think the writers felt obliged to have an episode without the explicit presence of the FE. (There were some real life Harbingers, though.)

As for Dawn climbing out of her window again, it was mildly tiresome, but it "felt" (to me, at least) more like the way Buffy used to sneak out of her own window to go on patrol. Now that Dawn was an SIT, she wasn't going to be coddled by the Scoobies blocking the front door, she was going to train *herself* if no one would train her. It also fits in with her take-charge attitude in her subsequent adventures with Amanda.
