Bring On The Night

Hey everyone, I have been watching Season 7 for the first time since it first aired in 2002-2003. Anyway I got to the episode Bring On The Night, and I thought it was really well done. The thing I liked the most was the last 10 minutes when Buffy was getting stalked by the Uber-Vamp. It was one of the only few time we have seen Buffy run from a fight. The scene reminded me of one of the earlier Terminator movies; Buffy's greatest foe a Vampire, now getting the upper hand on her, forcing her to run away and find shelter. When finally the Turok just ran up to Buffy and completely kicked her butt. That spin kick off the wall that led to the throw through the cement wall was brutal.

I can't wait to watch the rest of the eps, I know this is where supposedly the season starts to get "bad". But to honest, I remember I really quite enjoyed it the first time around. It's true that the potentials did get annoying at some parts, but overall the action and suspense of the season was really cool.

Oh, and my favorite episode so far has to be "Sleeper". Maybe it's because I am a big Spike fan, but that episode was awesome from start to finish.

Yeah...Buffy finally got "every square inch of her ass kicked." It was good to see her finally have a worthy opponent. Although it's funny how easily they tore through them by the end...even the girls without the Scythe.

My theory is the hell mouth seal is a vagina, the hell place is the womb, the first Uber-vamp (Turokarn) is a full-grown baby and all the ones still in their are fetuses, so they're weaker.

I think the first Turok-Han also had just feed off of a hybrid vampires blood and the one's underground didn't have the blood, human or otherwise! I think someone pointed this out before. It's a good theory. I love this episode as well because in the end Buffy is really beat all to hell and it isn't something that has happened before. Great to see. As for her finally defeating the first Turok-Han, I think she simply got her mojo back. Her emotions are very powerful to her slaying! And I think that is why she was also able to "end this once and for all" Her reslove was unmatched, she was through!!

I think that it has been generally accepted, here, at least, that the first ubervamp was it's race's equivalent of the alpha male, or even the Slayer. The UBER ubervamp, if you will, far more powerful than its fellows. That's why the others seemed so much easier to kill.

It's interesting how the only bad guys Buffy was ever afraid of were Vampires; The Master & the Turok Han. She's battled hellgods, superwitches, giant snakes, uber cyborgs, and almost every monster that made vamps look like a walk in the park. But two vampires had scared the shit out of her...

It's a good analogy. However if that is the case, then how valid was Giles's premise on the Turok Hans in general being the "vampires that vampires fear."? They seemed almost equivalent to the average vampire in their performance from Chosen.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Glory made her pretty damn scared, too...

The only thing that remotely resembled glasses on Buffy, were the raccoon eyes she had at the end of the ep, from the face smashing she took from the Uber-Vamp.

When she tried to stake Ubervamp, it looked at her like "Bitch Please!"

This is definitely one of the best episodes of this season, things are taking on a more DARKER tone. Plus I think Robin Wood knows exactly who Buffy really is.

Really suprised that Annabelle freaked out, Molly seemed more timid to me. I like Kennedy, me thinks she likes Willow.

Yes I like Kennedy, she's the only one willing to fully embrace her destiny at this point.


Showtime was a decent follow-up to Bring On the Night.

Glad that Buffy finally dusted Ubervamp and rescued Spike.

I think it's pretty safe to say that Glory made her pretty damn scared, too...

I always saw Buffy's flee from Glory as more of a thoughtful decision than an act of fear. She knew she couldn't kill Glory, or at least didn't know how, and she also knew Glory was a hellavu lot stronger than she. Buffy being the bright soldier she is, knowing who (when) and when not to fight, gave Glory a few blows and fled before Glory could do anything more serious. It was that "fall back" mentality soldier's exhibit when they lose the upper hand; it's not fear of the enemy, but considering the bigger picture. In this case, the bigger picture was usually Dawn, Willow, an innocent(s), or the world.

I personally thought season 7 was a pretty good. I mean the potentials were pretty annoying (escept for Felicia Day who is damn hot!)
Was good to see Buffy really beaten, not in a cruel way just as someone who supposed to be fighting super scary big bad things it's nice to see her fighting something that really can and does do her damage.
