Bringing Buffy Back

I would not have tried to bring her back to life if I were the Scoobies. It was too risky, in my opinion. I'm all the way with Giles on this one. Way, way too risky.

If it was a loved one of yours, wouldnt you take the risk, no matter how great???
I would definatley have tried to bring her back. She could totally have been in a hell dimension. I mean she jumped into a concentration of mystical energy that had opened the portal to a hell dimension. After seeing what had happened to Angel when he went to a hell dimension, there is no way in a million years that I would risk leaving her there. It would be different if she had died a natural death, but she didn't.

its hard to know where she would have ended up. she saved the world from ending so she should go to heaven.
but, she technically commited suicide, and thats a sin. so how would you know where she went?
but for me, id be totally selfish. not thinking about where she is. grief makes people selfish. id want her back.

If i knew a way i would of definatly brought her back, even if it was only the slightest chance she was suffering, i wouldnt hesitate. I know messing around, playing God is a bad thing but if i could in real life, i would do it to, and if i was dead (which im not btw!) I would want to be brought back!

Hint Hint! :thumbs_up

With her dying due to supernatural causes, I would have tried to bring her back. Like many have said, she could have been in a hell dimension and living in a world of torment and pain. After all she had done, she wouldn't deserve that...

I agree with Wolf on the whole suicide thing. Even if it was to save the world, she deliberately took her own life. I would think she was in hell so yeah, I would bring her back. But if she would have died of old age sorrounded by fat grandchildren, I would let her rest in peace.

I would have definetly for both selfish and more altruistic reasons, especially with hindsight. She was needed, without her then sunnydale would have been an eternal demon party and you know that eventually that pesky hell mouth would have been opened by someone.

Also chances are all the scoobies would probably have died, needlessly.

And her resurrection was needed, although it lead to the death of countless potentials it also lead to the activations of hundred, maybe thousands of slayers which would be of benefit to the world. Although there are still bound to be unforseen consequences of this activation, i'm sure that the good benefits would outway the costs.

Also with knowledge of fray we know that buffys actions most likely lead to the expulsion of demons from our realm until those vampires returned but still a few vampires are better than countless of other types of demons and monsters

I would have being her friend and all and if she was never bought back what do you think would have happen when they had their apocolypse... alot more people would have died and buffy wouldn't have been the same... but if they hadnt bought her back then season 5 should have been the last sesaon which would suck... so yeah i would have i know it would be hard for her... but still

I would have brought her back for a few reasons, firstly like a lot of you guys said, she could have been in a hell dimension because the portal she jumped into was a gateway to so many of them and secondly because Willow said to do it and everyone believed Willow was the wisest and they believed what she told them about not knowing Buffy's whereabouts. I would have done the same as the rest of the scoobies if I were in their position.

i would have brought her back. I have never lost someone and not wanted to bring them back, and if given the opportunity, regardless of the consequences I would probably do it. I am certain that it would not be the right thing to do, but I would still do it. It would have been easy to rationalize bringing Buffy back too because of the circumstances surrounding her death...in general though, accepting death as part of life is difficult and I am not giving myself credit to think I would be strong enough to just let the situation be if I could change it.

I agree, I would have tried to bring her back (purely for selfish reasons, such as missing her and thinking that she was being tortured). If I could bring back someone even if just for one day, I would have to do it no matter what the risk would be.

Bringing Buffy back made an interesting storyline, seeing how Buffy was coping being back alive. She later explained that she was in heaven, this was sad, i nearly cried myself!

People i know that have died, i would like to think that they are happy wherever they are, and i wouldnt want to bring them back to this world. This world is too fu**ed up!

True, but there was a chance that she would come back wrong. Cosequences as Spike said. What if Buffy would have stayed the same way she was when she first was brought back????

This is a tricky topic and one that i don't think you can fairly judge unless you are in the place of someone who has this decision to make.

In reality, none of us can ever dream of having the power to bring back a lost loved one, no matter how much we may want to. Here, dead is dead. Also, there is usually no doubt as to where you might believe that a person's soul has ended up. A religious person will no doubt believe that they move on to their personal choice of afterlife or reincarnation. A non-religious person might just accept that the person is gone, end of discussion.

In the case of Willow, however, you have both a person who is capable of bringing their loved one back and also a person who has enough reasonable doubt to have cause to believe that Buffy may not be at rest, instead stuck in some eternal torture. With that fear and that level of ability, i think we all would have to really question whether or not it was the right thing to do.

When you don't have that choice to make then the answer can seem a lot clearer than if you are suddely given the power to make the decision for yourself.

Power or no power, my choice would always be yes. my grandad died mearly three years ago (3 in jan) and i would give anything to get him back. no matter the consequences. given the power to do so, there is no choice. always yes.

but im selfish.

Why would you bring someone back into this world?(No disrespect)
But the world we are in is hell. I'd rather for someone I love to be resting than to be living in this hell we call earth.

I wouldn't call that selfish at all. When i was 16 i lost a girl i loved very much in a car accident and i can honestly say that i would have done anything to bring her back, no matter the consequences. That isn't selfish, it's being human.

My original point was to all those that didn't agree with what Willow did. You can't really say you wouldn't until the chance was there.

This way of thinking really scares me. I have discussed this a lot with Fran (doppelgänger) who says she really hopes "the end of the world" will come soon, that this whole thing is just pointless (not just living, but life itself, the world, everything)... I don't believe in anything but this world. As I see it, when you die you're dead, forever. You're not somewhere else, there's just nothing. And that scares me. I don't ever want to die simply because I want to know what happens to the world, I don't want to be gone and not know anything.
Well, anyway, basically, I understand Willow oh so much. I would definitely bring my friend back.. And I would want my friends to do the same for me (I would rather be messed up in this world than not be in it at all).. Well, the difference is of course that in Buffyverse we know that heaven and hell exist.. And Willow and co. had a pretty good reason to believe that Baffy was in fact in hell.. So I don't blame her/them at all. And I would have done the same, given the chance, no doubt about it.. That might be selfish or not, I don't know, it's just the way I look at life/the world..
