Bringing Buffy Back

The first time I watched season 6 I was so mad at Willow, more disappointed than I ever been with a character on BtVS I think. I thought the way she acted was just so selfish. Okey they did think she was in hell and all, but just like Willow said after they found out the truth; they didn't even consider any other possibility, because they didn't want to know. And that's what I think is selfish, now I'm not sure I think it's all bad and evil that they brought here back (well without that there would have been no season 6, and that I wouldn't want, heh)

I really don't know what I would do in that situation, but the things we hate the most about other people are supposed to be those things you do yourself, so maybe I would do just as Willow, even if I don't really hate her actions anymore..
 
What I wa s saying was that if she remained the same way she was when she was first brought back, they would have mourned even more. I'd say this was selfish of Willow. She just wanted Buffy back, but she didint think once what if buffy would return wrong. Like Anya said, what if she would have been a zombie> Then they have to kill her and mourn again. Just like when Dawn did the spell to return Joyce. Although Buffy was against it, she really did want it as we see when she ran to the door. Dawn realized her selfishness and ended the spell. We would have to think if that person would want us to bring them back, what would they want us to do instead of us thinking selflessly and jumping at any shot we get without thinking it out long and carefully. Willow already regreting bringing her back once she learned about Buffy being in heaven, but if buffy came back wrong and they found out she was in Heaven they would have felt even more guilty.........no disrespect against Willow because she is one of my favorite charaters. But even if I did have the power.....I couldn't do it...Icouldn't risk it unless i knew for sure. Why didn't Willow do a spell to communicate with Buffy on the other side or toproject herself astrlly to where buffy resided to see where she was for a fact????
 
Okay, no disrespect, that's a really good idea about Willow contacting Buffy and all and if it was real, well yeah you'd say do it straight away, but you don't do that sort of thing on T.V. showsm you want people to be shocked and appauled, you want their to be conflicts and misunerstandings, that's what makes T.V.
 
ok i'm going to weigh in now, as someone who always struggled with this when watching the show im horrified to think that there are those of you out there who wouldnt want to come back to this so called ''hell we live in'' i would call any place where you can be surrounded by those who love you and want you around would be a far cry from any kind of hell ive ever heard of, i mean eternal torment vs morning traffic hmm thats a toughie, even the most horrible things on this earth like the death of a child or the loss of a friend or sickness all just make it more apparent that the reason we were put here is to feel things, that loss could not be so great and terrifying if we hadnt had the love there to bigin with and its what we live for, to love and feel, to just BE. i dont think thats a hellish existence and if i died i think i would want people to do anything in there power (were it even remotely realistically possible) to bring me back so i could in fact live one more day and see the people i have to leave behind. i would hope that no one would think, eh, she'll be right, let's not bring her back even though we totally can
 
I'd like to bring her back but I wouldn't have. Especially not when more than a few months had passed. I'd have brought her back on the night she died or never would have.
 
Well the scoobies thought she was in a hell dimesion. [sadly they didnt think she was in heaven] so they wanted to save her. I think if they would have know she was in heaven they wouldn't have brought her back.
 
I'm not sure..first why in the hell would the assume she's was in hell? I thought that was just stupid..this girl had spent most of her life saving everyone..so she gets sent to hell for saving the world...twice? Right..
I think it was more for selfish reasons..they missed..her..they wanted her back..i think it was more of their own agenda.

Personally..no I wouldn't...I would never have thought she was in hell to begin with..I'd let her rest in piece.
 
It's an interesting point, but I can understand why they might think she was in hell. The Key opened the walls between all the dimensions, she died within the mystical energy, her soul could have been transported into one of those hell dimensions.
 
yer fiver, that's right. The energy she went into was a gateway to every dimension - mainly hells. Everyone thought she wasn't going to go to heaven like if she'd died normally. Glory was going to jump into it to get back to hell. There was a good chance she could have been in a hell dimension, hence the scoobies doing the spell. I have to say... I would have done something to see where she was first, like with that artefact Angel used to find Cordelia in that 4.2 episode with Gwen.
 
i can understand them wanting to bring Buffy back because they thought she had died and ended up in some hell dimension.if i was in that situation i would of made sure i was right and checked to see where she was,i would of made sure i wasnt puling her out of heaven or something,but the again i spose you wouldnt really think about that you would just want to get them back and make sure they're alright.if Buffy had died a normal death i dont think they would of brought her back they would of had a really hard time getting over her death but they wouldnt of brought her back,becuase they know that it is wrong to do that.
