Hi guys, I went to the Supanova Pop Culture Expo in Brisbane last weekend and had the most amazing time. The huge lines and hours of standing are so worth it when you get to meet such kind and genuine people. James was no exception. He was so lovely. I was so excited to be meeting him - I've been such a massive fan for so many years. I paid $300 for a 'Spike Spectacular' ticket. VIP seating at his Q&A panel, priority for autographs and photos and VIP seating at his concert and a meet and greet. Needless to say, my life is now complete haha.
When I entered the booth to get my photo taken with him, I was quite calm on the outside but FREAKING OUT on the inside. He greeted me, asked me how I was and shook my hand. We posed for the photo (the whole time I'm thinking 'he's touching me and oh my god I'm actually touching James Marsters') I went to walk away and before I could he started talking to me. I was shocked. I couldn't believe that he was taking the time to have a conversation. I've read many times from other people that he does that, but couldn't believe it was happening to me.
And I quote JM 'Did you know that you're the exact same height as Sarah?
Me: 'Really? That's awesome.'
JM: *Laughs* You make me feel tall - it's awesome - I love you!'
At which point I'm quite certain I died haha.
From then on it's all quite a blur, I remember thanking him which ended with him thanking me instead haha.
In his Q&A he was brilliantly funny and very engaging. The meet & greet with Spike ticket holders was his idea and it was awesome. So up close and another chance to ask any questions. We saw the soundcheck to his concert, which by the way, sounded great. I hadn't really heard too much of his stuff before that, but I am now a massive fan.
I would recommend any convention - such an amazing experience.
Also, met Tom Felton and he was lovely too. So polite and completely adorable.
All in all, YAY!😀
