Hey,
Ok,I read somewhere that Britney thought she was a good role model,ok she has worked hard to achieve her success, but does beina a good role model mean wearing next to nothing in your videos ?getting drunk a lot? not to me. I mean i like Britney and all but lately she has gone off the rails a bit,and I don't think its right for young girls to look up to her and try to act like her.
What do you think?

Only reason Britney is this popular is 'cause whenever any of us guys see her, we instantly think of one thing. And if all other girls started to act and look like her, we'd think of the same thing when seeing them. Which doesn't sound all that bad too me.

A world full of barely-dressed sluttly blondes, that is definitely what we want... Britney is definitely a good role model.

NO! hell no! she's not a good role model! just the things she does / wears in her music videos, she is not a good role model for young girls.

also allycat.. wanting other girls to look like her. thats just wrong!. we're talking about young girls here 😡

I completley agree with you.

....

Mm, I read that she didn't want the responsibility of people looking up to her and following her around. It's the parents job to educate their children on how to dress/behave.

I think people need to accept the fact that she is now, what, 22? anyway, she's old enough to take care of herself. Welcome also to the industry that she is in. She's only selling an image that has been in use for many years.

She's not sluttish, I don't think she is. If -she- is, than Christina is. I don't see these two artists like that all. Just sexually active women who are happy with themselves and their bodies.

and any responsible parent if they had a problem with Brit/Chris would deal with it in their own way, and not expect people to remain the same throughout their whole career.

no she hasnt

she spend her childhood being anoying brat who wanted to be famouse then went on pop idol (yeah they did that BEFORE they filmed it) and a record producer thought he could use her looks to make money.

i mean its not like she tried to write or perform music or try and get gigs, she just went on some "becomes famouse" TV show 🙄

Buffanau > i do not doubt both girls are happy with their bodies so happy and their ability to make them money.

I don't think she is... I mean look at the whole marriage thing... where are the consequences?

#1. Like we've said before on another thread, do any of us really know her? No. I mean really know her.

#2. Again, she's old enough to do what ever she wants. Have sex, get married, eat a whole box of cookies by her self!

#3. The only TV show she was really on what the MIckey Mouse Club. That didn't make her too famous... at all really.

I dont think that...
Do guys think every other guy is *THAT* shallow that they only pay attention to her sex appeal? Or a girls looks?
Or even how big their boobs are!?
God, guys are really that shallow....I dont do that.
All Im interested in is personality, I couldnt care less what they look like!

Theres two sides to this coin.

On one hand, getting drunk constantly, marrying and divorcing in the space of a day and prancing around semi-naked in videos is certainly not a good example to her younger fans at all.

On the other hand, she never asked to be a role model and has stated more than once that she's very uncomfortable having people look up to her, she would much rather they didn't. So if people choose to copy her it isn't really her fault because she doesn't go out and say "do what i do", it's those that copy her that are the sheep.

Plus, shes 22 years old and doesn't have to answer to anyone any more. If she wants to go out, drink and party thats utterly her choice and we shouldnt judge her for that.

So yeah, i think im coming down on Britneys side in this one.

The one thing that gets me is that no one should really try to act like someone else whether they are a celebrity or not. Its always best to be individual and be yourself.

TMS, Shell, .:Fred+Spike:. one word: sarcams

Offcourse Britney is the worse possible role model. She strips down half nacked, opens up her throat, gets money, throws it around like the real annoying spoiled brat she is, and on top of that ... she's totally fake!

i think she basically killed herself witht he whole "im not a vigin thing" that was a bad move i think she is just a slut who cant sing christina aguleira is a slut but at least she can sing

Britney's a horrible role model. With songs named "Baby, One More Time", "Oops, I Did It Again" and "I'm a Slave 4U" and wearing catholic schoolgirl uniforms and leather catsuits, she is in no way a role model.

It's the parents job to educate their children on how to dress/behave.
Well thats true but do you really think that kids are going to copy what their parents do? i sure wouldn't!

Mm, I read that she didn't want the responsibility of people looking up to her and following her around.
Thats her problem! she's a celebrity people ARE going to look up to her.

I didn't mean to copy what their parents do, but as a responsible parent who is 'offended' by Brit/Chris' image they should educate their children on what they think is best for them.

No, it shouldn't be her problem. It's the medias problem for making her the role model in the first place.

I really do not think that she is a good role model!! i mean sure she is entitled to do all of that stuff, but thats not a good role model. i mean would you really like your kids to grow up looking up to BRITNEY SPEARS?!?!

Yeah, what kid does look up to Britney Spears anyway?

surely there are more interesting people than Miss Spears to dote on anyway.

Just kids, put the inflatable bras down and go back to admiring your grandmas baked goods or the harmless ditzy blonde Jessica Simpson.

Britney makes music. She has fun. I wouldn't call her a role model, but perhaps some look up to her for different things other than what I consider role model material.
