Bruce Willis Diagnosed With Dementia After Retiring Due to Aphasia

Bruce Willis has been diagnosed with dementia, after he retired due to aphasia in 2022.

An absolutely horrible thing to happen to anyone. He had retired not too long ago due to health issues, and before that his movie roles were largely cameos or bit parts. For reference, his last “big” role was in 2019’s Glass.

His legacy of roles in films such as the Sixth Sense, Pulp Fiction, the Fifth Element, and of course Die Hard will live eternally in the fans. I only hope that brings some semblance of comfort to him and his family, knowing that he will continue to be loved.

This is very sad news. I feel very sad for his kids, it must be devastating to hear.

This is a hard diagnosis to deal with and even harder for the family to deal with. Someone with this gets hard to take care of. My heart goes out to his family. He was so good in Moonlighting and Mercury Rising, which is my favorite movie he is in.

I hope that the media give the family privacy over this, dementia can affect people in different ways, so hopefully the family will be supported as well.

He was already suffering aphasia this past summer, and having gone through this whole process (same exact diagnosis) with my mom, I figured this is what it was from. I hate that for his girls. It is SO HARD to watch your parent lose themselves over and over again.
