Buffy fans, contain yourselves - a singalong screening of the cult series’ hit musical episode is to be held in Manchester.

TV and film-themed bar Fab Cafe on Portland Street will be showing the season six classic Once More With Feeling as part of a ‘geek and LGBT pride’ event on the Saturday of Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend .

The Emmy-nominated episode sees a tap-dancing demon cast a spell on Sunnydale, causing everyone in the town to sing and dance - until they start to combust.

Written and scored by series creator Joss Whedon, it won critical acclaim when it first aired in the UK in 2002 and the soundtrack was later released as an album.

Whedon’s internet musical mini-series Dr Horrible will also be screened at the event on August 27, which starts at 5pm.

Bring your stakes and crucifixes - there’ll be prizes for the best Scooby Gang costumes and Whedon-inspired cosplay, as well as retro video games to play and fan artwork on sale.

I initially read this as 'BtVS musical sing-along is coming to horrible Manchester.' lol

Sounds like a fun event though.
 
Oh sweet! I might try and pull off a Willow cosplay (just dyed my hair orange)
I haven't been to Pride yet. I was thinking of going to Swindon's this weekend, but might go to Manchesters instead (or both, you know...)

A couple of clips from Saturday's Buffy sing-a-long. Was amazing!! Will be posting more dodgy phone quality vids later. The second vid is of me and my girlfriend (who I dragged along to the event. At least she knew most of the words) I'm the one on the right.

Dawn's song got booed at. As well as someone yelling "Shut up Dawn!" after Dawn says "The hardest thing to do in this world is live in it" (Which, incidentally, I do a lot when watching the ep myself...)

A fair few cosplayers, including three Buffys, a Spike, two Drus, and a Sweet (plus more)
As well as someone cosplaying the Mustard Song Guy. Wish I filmed that during the scene.

People went nuts over Willow and Tara's song as well as Spike's.

Overall, an amazing event! So many people cheering over a DVD episode!

Everyone loved Sweet's song, not just Dawn's "Doesn't anybody notice?" part. Poor Dawn gets all the hate!

I did! I took a fair few amount of vids until my memory was full up (I'll warn ya now, my singing voice isn't cut out for Buffy Sing-a-long) but on Fab Cafe's facebook page is a fair few vids from the event 🙂 (Where it was held at)
