'Long Way Home PT 1 has been nominated for Nickelodeons's Kids Choice Awards, in the book catagory. It's up againt the Harry Potter sereis, Home, Diaries of a Wimpy Kid, and How to Eat Fried Worms.

From my reading of the article I got the impression that it isn't a public vote. It sounded like it was going to be like the Oscars (or even this year's Buffies 🙂)

It's an awards ceremony on this board where members are given awards for different things; funniest member, cutest member etc. This years awards ceremony I think occurred just before you joined I'm afraid and ended up being kinda crazy. It involved at one point Buffy Summers chasing Bangelxx with the heel of her shoe.

Chaotic.

But in a good way. haha
 
I love the Buffy Comics but I'm sure Harry Potty is gonna win. He seems to be popular. I wouldn't know though cuz I've never read the books or seen the movies.
 
The movies are for kids, the books adults can enjoy too. If you wanna know what the fuzz is about DON'T go see the movies, cause you'll end up disappointed.

As great as it is to have Buffy back, I didn't think LWH and The Chain were that great. And it's up against the Harry Potter series in its entirety. I think the latter should win.

I've read the books, I can't stand them. Rowling's clichés and abysmal grammar along with oblique metaphors of KKK nestled amongst the 'Voldemort boo!' plotline.

I think it's the Death Eaters. They wear masks much like the KKK, and like the KKK were anti-black, the Death Eaters are Anti-Muggle. And in the fourth book there's even the beginnings of a muggle lynching.

Good point. I never looked at the Death Eaters as the Wizard version of the KKK.
I always saw them more as Nazis.

I think you can see Death Eater's as a metaphore for both Nazi's and KKK. The difference isn't too big to begin with.
