I know this has been done before (either here or on a different website) but it's definitely something that makes you think. What Hogwarts houses would the characters have been sorted into? I got wrapped around the question when I saw a video about it on YouTube, but they only did main characters so....

Buffy - Gryffindor of course, probably the best example of this since Harry Potter himself...
Xander - Gryffindor. Many people argue Hufflepuff due to him being "The Heart" of the Scoobies, but IMO he is like the Ron Weasley, having to live in the shadow of his two best friends, 'The Chosen One' and a powerful witch.
Willow - Ravenclaw, but Slytherin might fit her too seeing as how Willow is the most verbal in her thirst for vengeance when she feels she deserves it (i.e. Tara's death)
Giles - Gryffindor
Angel - Gryffindor
Spike - Slytherin
Cordelia - Gryffindor
Oz - Hufflepuff
Dawn - Gryffindor
Faith - Tough choice (Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff are def out of the question). The Slytherin angle suits her well, especially when she first arrives on the show (being Buffy's "shadow" and all), but post-prison Faith has a lot of Gryffindor qualities. Idk I'd have to say in spite of all this there's still the heart of a Gryffindor in there somewhere.
Anya - Slytherin, though Ravenclaw I see as a close second
Tara - Hufflepuff
Wesley - Gryffindor, he is a Neville Longbottom of sorts in how he goes from being a wimp into a badass
Riley - Hufflepuff
The Trio - Warren is definitely Slytherin, Jonathan and Andrew would be Hufflepuff
Joyce - Hufflepuff
Amy - Slytherin
Jenny Calendar - Ravenclaw
Kendra - Ravenclaw
Ethan Rayne - Slytherin
Snyder - Slytherin
Harmony - Slytherin
Mayor Wilkins - Hufflepuff
Wood - Gryffindor
Kennedy - Gryffindor
Most Potentials would likely be Gryffindor as well.

If you look at what the houses represent-
Gryffindor bravery, daring, nerve, and chivalry
Hufflepuff hard work, patience, loyalty, and fair play
Ravenclaw intelligence, knowledge, and wit
Slytherin ambition, cunning and resourcefulness

not whom the are represented by, it would be broken down like this:

Buffy - Slytherin
Xander - Hufflepuff
Willow - Ravenclaw
Giles - Ravenclaw
Angel - Gryffindor
Spike - Slytherin
Cordelia - Slytherin
Oz - Ravenclaw
Faith - Gryffindor
Anya - Slytherin
Tara - Hufflepuff
Wesley - Ravenclaw
Riley - Gryffindor

Angel definitely would be transferred from one house to another at least once a year😀

My list is a bit different, as a general rule I don't agree with the putting the bad guy in Slytherin and putting the good guy in Gryffindor. Going by the representation of the houses, given by Mr. Pole, my list is:

Buffy: G (brave, daring, nerve, she's the slayer, she's got all of this)
Xander: H (I know he's very Ron like, but in my mind I always saw the representation of Harry, Ron, Hermione as Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw but in the end the message is that the house you are in doesn't always represent who you are as a person, because that depends on the choices you make).
Willow: toss up between R or S
Cordy: toss up between S or G
Oz: H
Faith: G
Giles: S (especially with the Ripper, Giles has a very Slytherin like past)
Anya: R (Ravenclaws are also known for being the odd ball out, which isn't unfamiliar as shown with Luna, this is actually kind of the norm for them. I also think Anya can be smart when she wants to, even if they've made her into a comedic relief)
Tara: R (She's one of the most wise character on the show, and again, bit of an odd ball)
Angel: H (I think Angel would do anything for his friends and his family, he's fighting out of loyalty to them and to himself, to better who he is, it's all about doing the right think and working to be the best he can be. Those are very Hufflepuff attributes)
Spike: S (LOL he has the same hair due as Malfoy)
Dawn: G (say what you want about Dawn, she definitely has all the attributes of a Gryffindor)
Riley: H (I think the soldier fits in him fits Hufflepuff well. It's all about being loyal and hard working)
Doyle: S (he could be a cunning little bastard, and in the demon world, I'd say he was pretty street smart, aka resourceful)
Wes: G
Gunn: I can't decide, he could be a toss up between any of them pretty much
Fred: R (again, intelligence, wit, and the weird personality)
Lorne: H

Interesting choice. "Ambition, cunning and resourcefulness"? I'd agree with the last one but ambitious and cunning, for Buffy... really?

Buffy was rather cunning when she had to be, but normally brute force would get the job done so she doesnt display it as much. Yes, I feel she was ambitious. Granted her slayer duties negated much of that ambition, but there are multiple episodes which highlight it.

Cast of Angel: Angel, Wes, and Cordelia I still think are all Gryffindor. Gunn would probably be Gryffindor too, and Fred is definitely a Ravenclaw. For Lorne, I say Hufflepuff, and Connor it's a toss-up between Gryffindor/Slytherin. I agree with Blaze in that Anya, being the "oddball" of the group would qualify as Ravenclaw, and Giles' "Ripper" past might have previously earned him a spot in Slytherin house.

Buffy, Xander, Tara, Dawn, Wes - Gryffindor
Willow, Fred, Anya - Ravenclaw
Gun, Riley, Lorne, Oz- Hufflepuff
Spike - Slytherin (Blaze made me remember that Spike and Malfoy do have the same hair due😀

Angel is G/H/S
Willow is half G, half S
Conner half G, half S
Cordelia toss up between S/G
Faith again G/S
