(BtVS) The WORST.

I really hate Restless., I don't think that episode was needed and I think they should have ended season 4 with Primeval.

I don't hate it, but it is kinda boring. I do like about it that it gives many indications and clues for the past, present and future of the series. One can read a lot into it and stuff in it. So even though it's boring to watch, it is an important episode for understanding what's really going on, also in the characters' heads.

I think this is why I like Go Fish, because of the feminism in it, not the big fish monster guys. The fact that the girl saves the guy, walks him home, and guards him.

Yea. Michael got saved by Buffy. 😱 I bet he could have used her to get out of Fox River too... Wait... Wrong show, oops! 😛

But everything in every script is written in order to lead to the next step. This one is not different and there's nothing wrong with it. It actually makes sense that Buffy will get hurt once in a while. It will be silly not to make her like this. Weak sometimes. She's human, she's not a higher being or something who can't get hurt. She slipped and made a mistake. It's realistic. I'd be worried if they made her undefeatable. And the emotional weak, again she's human. That doesn't happen to her a lot, which means it can happen any time, anywhere. She realized something, that she's breakable. She almost died, yes, by a regular vampire. So of course it shocked her. What if that happens again? She's not immortal. and it doesn't have to take a big bad or a god to kill her. That's the point.

Why he's telling her this? Because 1)he needs the money, and 2)he's in love with her (which makes me believe that it's not even about the money like he wants Buffy to think). Spike is one of the most dangerous vampires in the history. She wants to know what she's walking into. Lucky? Maybe yes maybe no. Fact is, he's killed two Slayers. How many vampires out there can say they killed 2 Slayers? Want it or not, Spike is a strong fighter. He knows Slayers because of his obsession with them. He knows about their death wish and he used that knowledge. He knows what Buffy really is as a Slayer. He uses that knowledge, and Buffy uses it too. Because he is the only one around who's alive and bagged 2 slayers. Buffy wants to use that information to prevent from dying.

I don't agree about James, but whatever. Your opinion. I just like looking at actors' acting when I'm watching something. And I can actually see what Spike feels, so I think James delivers Spike's feelings very well.

You're probably right about the first part I didn't see it that way but I still think that this episode makes Buffy look like an idiot. What I think is stupid about Buffy going to Spike for advise, is that Buffy goes to Spike for advise this early on, in my head that's absurd.
And it's what she wants advise about, she wants him to give her information on how to keep from dying when fighting vampires, what kind of miraculous solution can he provide her with, why does she expect him to say anything that's useful to her other than that, what did he say again? that all a vampire needs is one good day, because it's not more complicated than that and Buffy shouldn't have to think twice about it.
And I don't see a reason for Buffy to trust Spike, she's paid him to do things before and it hasn't worked (Out Of My Mind) and Buffy didn't know that Spike was in love her so why should she trust him?

And I think James Marsters overacts a lot.

As I said, she didn't have a choice. It's talking to Spike or die. He did give her important information. One of them is the most important one: why other slayers died (and so fast, I assume) and why Buffy still lives. -Because other slayers didn't have family and friends. He tells her so much good information and he is totally right in what he's saying. Including the fact that every Slayer has a death wish.

Those are things that Buffy could have figured by herself. She didn't. But the smart thing she did was - to know. By asking Spike. I don't think it's stupid to go to your only choice so you don't make the same mistakes and die. I don't see anything stupid about it.

Also, Spike didn't have a choice either. He needs the money. It's like a very poor person who has to work at a sucky job, to get money. They both needed each other. And needed to trust each other this time.

Doesn't matter if Buffy doesn't know he loves her. I was stating the reasons he's helping her. This one and the money one. Point is, they needed each other to surviive!

Username agrees: I don't agree with you, I don't think Buffy needed to go to Spike for something like that, but ok, that's your opinion I respect it.

And that's your opinion that I should respect. I just have to stick with the fact that it's not that she wanted to, she just didn't have a choice. That's the whole point I'm trying to make.

I never liked Prophecy Girl. I don't know if it's the worst episode for me though.
I can't think of a episode that I really dislike, but I guess it would be from Season 4,5 or 7.

What is the worst episode on BtVS? I know this will vary from person to person, but I'm still curious to find out which ones come up the most. It could be because you just hate that episode, or that you thought it was completely useless to the overall story.

I Robot, You Jane is by far my least favourite episode. There are others that are a bit crappy, like with every show, but this one bores me to tears. The pacing is so messed up, that it feels like a million years long and is easily the cheesiest ep. Maybe it's because it's so dated now, but come on. Stop talking to the computer like a weirdo, Willow.

Where the wild things are.

I could see how this would be one that a lot of people wouldn't like and I don't think it's one of the best either, but for me it keeps itself from making my worst list entirely because of Anya's "Me too! WHOO HOO!" That just cracks me up everytime I hear it. 😀

"Where the Wild Things Are"
"Something Blue"
"Crush" <-- I would love this episode if it weren't for the horrendous ending
"Doublemeat Palace"

Um, pretty much any episode that even smells like Spuffy [where they're kissing and other stuff]

Hmmm.

"Beer Bad"
"The Roommate"
"Earshot" <-- only because it completely destroyed my fantasy of having telepathy
"In the Dark Ages" <-- or whatever it's called

There may be more.

oh man, "something blue" is in my top ten buffys haha
I'm surprised to hear there was so much hate for Beer Bad. Sure the social commentary was pretty hamfisted, but it had its moments and it was kinda funny seeing and hearing buffy act as a cavewoman.

For me my least favourite episode was The Pack. The one where Xander and the popular kids become possessed by Hyena spirits. To be sure there's been some dull and boring episodes in the buffy series, but none have tested my patience and made me feel like giving up on the Buffy series moreso then that episode. I just found it incredibly embarrassing watching those actors laugh and shriek like Hyena's, particularly since one of them was Eion Bailey (from Band of Brothers). The guy is a pretty decent actor which was why it was so awkward seeing him act like that.

The runners up are I Robot, you Jane because of how dated it is; and the Cheer Leading episode where we first meet Amy, because of how lame it seemed seeing Buffy get so excited over wanting to be a cheerleader. I know she was a teenage girl at the time, but I wanted to see her kick vampire/monster ass not hear about Cheer leader try outs.

As you can see they're all from the first season, but it was this season that was my baptism of fire for the series. Its initial monster of the week format really tried my patience in wanting to continue. Every time I saw a MOTW episode I pretty much longed for an episode that revolved around The Master or vampires in some form.

Man, am I the only one who really likes I Robot, You Jane because it is so 90's and dated? Plus, we meet Jenny. It might be one of my favs!

There are some great Jenny/Giles moments in that ep!

I think it's a good episode as well, it's got some great moments. Plus, I'm pretty sure it's the one where Giles refers to Jenny as "that dreadful Calendar woman" and that just entertains me. :D

I like it not because it's dated, I like it because it's awesome. Jenny-Giles banter, a fun villain, old school Scooby investigation, an interesting glimpse into Willow's attitude towards romance - what's not to like? Well, apart from the talking computers.

I guess "Doublemeat Palace" takes the cake. "Amends" comes very close though, in post-S8 hindsight (I've been anything but a fan of it even before the comics, anyway, it's always been one of the lamest eps IMO... on a par on the FFWable scale with "Where The Wild Things Are" and "Reptile Boy").

DB is pretty bad...
Disagree: Although "I Was Made To Love You" is def not the best episode, I think it was important. It suited several things aside from the Buffy bot. It was all about closer from Riley. She realized the she treated him like a robot, as Warren treated his bot. Also, they needed a more light hearted, seemingly mundane ep to shock people with Joyce's death at the end.

Interesting...I always thought that was a teriffic episode.
