If you live in the UK, the Syfy channel are having a Buffy weekend on the 3rd and 4th March. The public get to pick their top 20 episodes which will be shown in order over that weekend.

If you'd like to vote for your favourite episodes you can do so at http://www.syfy.co.uk/buffy

There also showing Buffy season 7 weekdays at 7pm.

Well, I will defintely put that as my weeken plan for then!! Revising while watching Buffy, is it bad I am already looking forward to it? Heres hoping they play Older and Far Away 🙂


EDIT- just checked website... there are only 20 ones you can vote for? Is it more just put these in order? OaFA isnt in that list 🙁
 
Yea, it is only those episodes you can choose from. I've read on the site and it says that they have pre selected those episodes so its fairer. Here's the T&C's

There are 144 episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and we’ve selected the 20 that we think are the cream of the crop for you to choose from. So why haven’t we just let you choose from all 144? Well, the simple answer is that we want the countdown to be as strong as possible. In other countries, when stunts like this have been aired, the results have been skewed by certain sections of the fandom making their opinions count with greater weight by organising multiple voting. By preselecting the episodes that we think are genuinely the best, we can ensure that the countdown is more reflective of the quality of the show, rather than of the cult status of certain characters or ships

I caught this today, was really weird seeing BtVS on the TV again, almost surreal as I'm so used to watching it on my boxsets at home. If i can stop at my boyfriends I will definitely be watching it and voting for my faves.
 
Yuck. I hate that channel >:/ They cut and edit the show so much that it's hardly worth watching. It's as bad as E4 was for cutting FRIENDS (why show a sitcom where 80% of what the cast talk about is sex if you can't have them talking about sex at 5PM? >;/)

I liked Syfy back when it was Sci-Fi and they used to show anime movies every week that weren't on any other channel <3

Buffy is also on another channel (FX I think) and ANGEL is now on the Horror Channel.

Agreed the edits are very annoying!
I've checked and Buffy isnt shown on the FX channel in the UK 🙂

Buffy's also on on Saturdays from 11am till 4pm.
 
A bit more info on the Buffy weekend:

In a bumper Buffy weekend - featuring two days of 11 back to back hours each of the best episodes ever - the results will be exclusively revealed and introduced by Anthony Head, one of the series’ biggest stars, and played out in ascending order from 11am – 9pm each day.

Across the course of the weekend, Anthony will not only reveal the order of the top 20, he will also share his own personal anecdotes and insights on the featured episodes from his 6 years and 7 seasons playing Rupert Giles, Buffy’s ‘Watcher ‘, who guides and trains her.

The 2-day celebration of everything we love about Buffy will reach a thrilling climax at 9pm on Sunday 4th March when Anthony will reveal the number one ranking episode - as voted for by fans – in Buffy: The Greatest Episodes, only on Syfy.

Since learning Anthony Head will be involved, I can't wait for next weekend and this to be on. I don't live in the UK but that doesn't mean I can't pirate the station!

but hold the phone, there will be 11 back to back hours or episodes on each day? If it's 11 episodes on each day, then maybe my arithmetic is wrong and you guys do it differently in Britain, but wouldn't that make 22 episodes total and not 20?

I hear that with Sky+ you can record TV, so there better be some fans out there who record the sections with Anthony Head and make them availabe to fans worldwide, it's your duty as Buffy fans! Afterall, it is unlikely the sections with ASH will be released for sale, right?
 
So OMWF won and Anthony Head did a sing along at the start right before the episode began...Which was more shades of awesome than I know how to pronounce.

Hope they upload the whole thing soon!

Even though I saw the SyFy countdown, I would stilll like to be able to see all the ASH moments too, hope someone recorded them and will upload soon.
 
I've checked on youtube to see if anyone has uploaded the ASH parts yet and nothings on yet 🙁

Syfy has started showing Season 1 at 7pm, as of tomorrow they are up to Teacher's Pet.
 
Buffy is starting from the beginning on the Syfy channel. Welcome to the Hellmouth is on tomorrow at 7am and 12pm.
 
Awesome. They only just finished a complete run from the beginning. it's nice to see they have the show on loop. Hopefully they create a few new fans of the show everytime they repeat it.
