Budget Buffy Season DVD Box Sets

Cheaper versions of the DVD box sets are coming soon.

Many of you have spotted that budget versions of the Buffy season DVD box sets of seasons one to six are available in other territories such as Australia.

Well, the good news is that as of 24th May Buffy fans in the UK can also get hold of the cheaper sets.

Here at the BBC we're loath to talk about such dirty subjects as money, but suffice to say the new releases mark a significant saving. Previously, the sets have retailed at around £80. Now, some sites are quoting the new sets as significantly under the £40 mark.

So, it's good news all round; whether you're a fan who wants to replace his VHS copies or someone new to the series.

I'll be peeved if they're lowering the prices...cuz ya know...Ive bought them all now for the full prices! lol
 
Well before Christmas Amazon had them on their site for £26 as Amaray style (normal plastic DVDs that you get with most DVDs)
 
Yea how can they possibly make the dvds cheaper. Maybe they can take out the Extras, but that wouldn't make it that much cheaper?
 
Maybe it's in the packaging? Or maybe they are like the "special character sets" where there are only "pivital" episodes?
 
Yeah..it would meant a lot of additional work to do this so all in all stupid idea..Happy for you guys..You'll be able to buy your dvds cheaper now...
 
I'm not sure if there is any difference from the expensive versions and the cheap versions. I just looked on amazon.co.uk and they only have the cheap versions up. They don't have the normal priced ones and the cheaper ones (like they did when the Amary versions where up there). All they have done is put the price down. So from the looks of things we are getting what you paid £80 for about £30 (on Amazon they are about that price). Its unfair on the people who went out and brought them at full price but a big gain for people who waited. So it doesn't look like any cuts will be made on the cheaper versions. Maybe Fox just need to clear out stock now that Buffy is over? I hope they do the same with the Angel DVDs because all my episodes are on VHS.
 
I'm happy with my VHS, I'm too much of a cheapskate to buy a DVD player and the only thing that can play DVD's in this house is the computer, and I don't like watching moveis on the computer.
 
I wonder if they will come out like that in america...prob not, since we havent gotten s6 on dvd yet.
 
Yeah I'm glad they're lowering the prices but I wish you could just buy them at shops cheaper lol. I can't afford them at the current prices either ::crying2:
