Cool. I'm so glad btvs isn't dubbed in Swedish. All the dubbed things we have (usually just kids stuff and commercials) is so annoying - voices doesn't fit and the lips are never in sync.

Your country is a wise country 😀 Dubbing is not killing the emotions most of the time, it's also awful translations (although I can cut them some slack since it's very different languages and therefore different syntax). However, I kind of have a some "tenderness" for it, since it was the only version I've known for years (I started watching the show at 8 on TV, then later on tapes which only had the dubbed version).
 
Oh, man. Dubbing is so weird. I bought all of my BtVS DVDs in the UK, except season 1. Season 1 has various audio tracks and season 2 has French. The rest of my DVDs have only the original language audio tracks. I only watch it in English, anyway. Man, I have to Oz' German voice is strange, but I recognize the voice actor. I think he's SpongeBob SquarePants' German voice 😀
 
I'm not a fan of dubbing. Sadly, if you're from a country that has a big enough population to afford good quality dubbing, they usually don't leave you a choice. So as soon as I could (like, for my level of English) I switched to English pretty much. It's not as much the voices that bother me than how they translate it.
Like when Spike says "I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it"...you would never use bitch in German in such a context. So what they did is they changed it to 'I might be a victim of my feelings...", which doesn't have the same ring. Buffy had a lot of witty dialogue, but when they try to translate it into German it just sounds douchey.


I do sometimes watch stuff dubbed in French though, for educational purposes. I kinda like that, because a year ago I bascially didn't understand anything (though I did already know basic French...took it 4 years in high school) and now I could understand all the French dialogues up there.
