Ok talking with a few friends *cough* Zeppo, Abbeycat *cough*

Which era do you truly love of television....Buffy was from the 90s and to me it feels as though tv was so much better with originality, etc. in the 90s whether it was shows or cartoons. So what do you think.....i know this might become basically age groups defending their era but the hell with it 😛

and back up your claim with some of your fav shows!!!!!!!! I will try and make a lil' list later cause my head hurts :S

90s!!! I'm a total 90s kid.

Buffy/Angel
Boy Meets World
Dawson's Creek
Student Bodies
Friends
Power Rangers!
Captain Planet

Though I am a fan of early 2000's shows, like OC and Lost as well. I like to think of them as heavily influenced by the 90s anyway. 🙂

Angelic Slayer
Angelic Slayer
Captain Planet!! I LOVED that show!!
My parents were really strict about how much tv I watched so my catalogue is pretty limited and it partly might just be nostalgia but it just seems like as a kid and a teen I could randomly turn on the tv and something interesting was on. Now whenever my friends' kids and teens are watching Disney or some random kids'/teens/preteens show it's rubbish. Still, that's probably what a lot of adults thought of the kids/teens shows I watched in the 90's. I'm mostly thinking of youth/kids shows, I wasn't really comparing adult shows as Buffy is the only "adult" show I watched from the 90's.

Honestly, I'm down with TV from all decades. I don't think the decade says it's good or bad TV. I think the concept, the showrunners, and writers (as well as actors) say it's good or bad TV.

I basically agree with Zobo but its hard getting past nostalgia.

All of these are fantastic shows... but you could make a list like that for any of the decades up there. It basically has to do with your childhood

I would say the 90's were better especially for teen dramas. Although some of my favorite shows ever are from today so tough one. I am going to say equal because it was hard to choose.

Some of my favorite 90's shows are:
Angel
Buffy
Dawson's Creek
Felicity
Roswell<33
off the top of my head.

Now my all time favorite show is Friday Night Lights which is today. Others are:
Grey's Anatomy
Dexter
The Killing
The OC
The Vampire Diaries
Skins UK
Terminator Sarah Connor Chronicles
So many more for the list it is just I am tired 😛

I think they make good TV today you just have to look harder. Now movies are another story.

Student Bodies karma. I'd times the karma by 2 if I could!
I have to say 90's. Feels like there's too many reality/competition shows now. I mean, I like some of them, but it's not really memorable TV. And maybe it's the nostalgia talking, but I miss a lot of 90's shows. I'm pretty young so I didn't watch a lot of them when they were airing, but I remember watching tons of reruns on other networks.

I'd say '90s, I reckon. It was great to be a kid in that decade. So many great cartoons: Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Rugrats, the Simpsons, Blinky Bill, the Magic School Bus, Dragon Ball Z, Digimon, South Park, Arthur, Power Puff Girls etc.

Oh, and of course, the '90s had the Wiggles!!!! 😀

I love the 00's shows, though, too: HIMYM, Supernatural, Veronica Mars and many more.

The 90s! Late childhood and early teen years 😀

Shows I know and watched:

Mad About You
Fresh Prince
Blossom
Brotherly Love
My So-Called Life
Friends
That 70s Show
Boy Meets World
Sabrina The Teenage Witch
Home Improvement
Full House
Beavis and Butthead
Duck Tales
Goof Troop

I have to admit I haven't watched Buffy until 2001, so it's not a 90s memory for me. 🙁

I was born in the 90s so I love 90s TV. I used to love shows like Boy Meets World, Teen Angel, etc. I like 2000's TV as well but it doesn't resonate with me as much.

Imo it's the 90's and the 80's! Yea I'm biased, I know... But everyone nowdays agree that the shows on tv in the 00's are much worse than back then. Cartoons mainly. 😛

I'm not going to make a list because I was listening mostly to french shows while growing up, which wouldn't mean anything to you peeps. But yea I watched Power Rangers, Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles and the like too... Even tho I didn't understand english at all, lol. Ooo, one cartoon I loved to death then was 'Ewoks'. 🙂 Still humming the theme from time to time.

The '60's and below (Bet I'm the only one who votes for this one!) primarily because I was younger and more impressionable then. But the late '50's and early '60's had the shows that I am always the most nostalgic about.

T H E Cat
Gunsmoke
Sea Hunt
Wagon Train
Maverick
Have Gun, Will Travel
Superman (the first series, starring George Reeves)
Lawman
The Life And Legend Of Jim Bowie
Roy Rogers And Dale Evans

(and what list from that era could possibly be complete without the greatest series of them all? The one, the only, the greatest, the original.....)

STAR TREK!!!!!!!!!

Roy Rogers and Dale Evans karma!! Did you ever watch Wanted: Dead or Alive with Steve McQueen?
NY State of Mind
NY State of Mind
Maverick, Lawman karma
With a handful of exceptions from shows that started in the early 00's, the 90's owns TV.

Buffy
Angel
Dawson's Creek
Roswell
Ally McBeal
E.R.
NYPD Blue
Third Watch
The West Wing
Heartbreak High
Friends
Fresh Prince of Bell Air
Ready or Not
Sweat
SM:TV Live
The Shawn Michaels/Stone Cold Steve Austin/Rock era's of WWF (i.e. THE BEST ERAS!)
California Dreams

There's countless more that I can't think of, but in sum: I have never enjoyed TV as much as I did during the 90s. And it is still those shows that I go back to. Even now.

Woot Heartbreak High karma!
I think, but I may be wrong of course, that we're all kind of suckers for nostalgia... hey, that's why all the stuff that parents of young kids now is so popular again I'm sure...

something special about what we watched when we were kids.
