Buffy and Angel at the Emmys

DB, though he can do other stuff, has a role that he's good at and which he keeps doing. As he gets older, he's probably going to have to cut down on the action-y side, though as a big guy he can probably make that believable for longer. He's probably pretty bankable now for a certain kind of character.
As long as he can look tough and fit most of the actual fighting can be done by stunt people. Rockford as i dimly recall, was more a 'rough them up' guy than an action hero. It was a role the orignal did in middle age - so i doubt anyone is thinking he will be doing "seal team-y" action.

I missed this. Are SMG and DB presenting together?

According to this article, they're invited to present, but not officially confirmed. They've also invited the ladies from Charlie's Angels original TV series - and they're likely to present together, so you can assume they'll pair SMG and DB.

Although I'd laugh if they didn't! 🤣

Yes, it's not so much "Is David physically capable?" as "Can we believe he can do it?" If he looks big and generally physically capable, then it's believable, even if the stunt double does the heavy lifting.

Though DB was in his late 40s at the start of SEAL Team! So, mid-50s by the end.

Probably, but they specifically wrote them in the creative elements announced for the 78th Emmy Awards
  • The broadcast will feature celebrations of the milestone 30th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with David Boreanaz and Sarah Michelle Gellar, and the 50th anniversary of Charlie’s Angels with Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd and Jaclyn Smith.
