Rip-off of the book club.

Would people be interested in starting a Buffy and Angel Episode Club now that the shows are over. What would happen is every week we chose one episode which everyone tries to watch (okay so sometimes we wont have that season etc so we'll mix them up) and then at the end of the week we all discuss it.

I think it would be a good way for us to discuss the episodes again and a reason to re-watch them. Plus for people like me who didn't watch the episodes the first time around it would be good to be able to discuss them with others.

Now I want to make sure enough people are interested in starting it, while it would work with say four people it wouldn't work as well.

So theres my idea, give me feedback please. ::dis::

Sounds like a very good idea. And if someone doesn't have an episode, but has seen it before, and not too long ago, they can read a summary somewhere to refresh their memory if they want...
To me, with Angel episodes I will have a problem, cos I have only watched part of s2 and the beginning of s3, and I have no dvd's, but if more people are interested we can talk about all that then...
 
Do you think, for now, we should confine discussion to episodes from seasons that have already been released on dvd? Sounds like fun though 😀
 
Well all of them have been released (okay except Angel S5 and thats out on vid on monday) in the UK but I understand what you mean. I think what we could do it is every person should make a few suggestions for the next episode and then we decide which would be best, so most people can participate.

If we do this I think "Welcome to the Hellmouth" would be the most apt first episode.
 
I'm loving it. 😉 I have all the DVDs that are released in North America.
 
Well people seem interested but we should give it time for people to "sign up" as so to speak, so if we start next Monday with "Welcome to the Hellmouth", we have that week to watch and suggest episodes to watch in future, then as of the next Monday we talk about it so we can all talk about it together. Or would a week be too long? Ideas people! 😛

No I don't think a week is too long...some people may not be able to get online until the weekends or something....and hey - we're not in any rush - where are we going 😉
 
That sounds like a really cool idea! If we sign up though could we be like flexible to those who missed one week b/c they were busy? Because besides tons of studying and work it can be kind of hard to get free time. But I would love to be a member!
 
Sounds liek a good idea to me. And "welcome to the Hellmouth" seems like the perfect episode to start it all off.

It would probably be best if anyone who wants can participate each week can. You don't have to participate every week, only when you want, or when you get the chance to watch the episode. And anyone new can jump in any week.
 
I'm game...even though I'm re-watching S5 now, I'm always ok to go back...

I'm getting a little ahead of myself, but Ash, what do you think about doing a later season episode for the second one, like a compare/contrast from the first season??
 
Ooh this is a cute idea! 🙂 I don't have any DVDs but I've read myself through most of the series on the net so that'll be alright... then maybe some looking at screencaps lol 🙂... but good idea to rekindle the looove for the shows 😀 and I would certainly love to be a part of this!!

See I was thinking Chosen as the next one, to go from one extreme to the other, but then the S7 DVDs aren't out in the USA so maybe something in season six. We seem pretty settled on "Welcome to the Hellmouth" for the first one. So we will start that Monday 23rd, so until the following week (30th) we can all just throw in ideas for episodes, doesn't matter if its the next one or what.

Plus dont make them all classic episodes, some normal episodes that will still be nice to discuss. Im happy everyones so game.
 
Chosen will be a bit hard for me to watch...it hasn't even been shown here in Norway, we have about 4 episodes left or something...but it's weird that s7 is out on dvd here, and not in the USA...i've seen them...Oh well...
I just wonna see if I get this...we watch the episode on monday, and give everyone a week to watch it? And in the meantime we can suggest episodes to watch later on? And when the week is over we start discussing the episode?
 
I think the way it goes...was we watch the pre-determined eppy on Monday. Then, we have a week to post about it...up until Sunday night.

Then, the following Monday, another pre-determined eppy is watched, and discussed that week, and so on and so on.
 
I have to say that I assolutely love this idea Ashsan. It's such a great way to keep disscussions of the episodes fresh and also to sort of bring board members together.

That would make more sense, then I suppose we wouldn't have two weeks per episode in essence like we were going to. So say for the first one its like this:

Monday 23rd-Sun 29th

Watch "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and discuss.

Monday 30th-Sun 5th

Watch next ep and discuss

Yada yada yada
