Buffy and Angel theme

Everytime i listen to this piece of music it hits me emotionally. Amazing track and i can't possibly see how you couldn't be moved by it if you are a Buffy fan that is.

What's your feelings when you listen to it? Is it just some music or does it hit you emotionally?

It makes me sad. I think about Becoming Part 2. And the terrific acting from both Sarah and David. It was truly one of the saddest moments in btvs. I also think of Buffy at her lowest, stripped of everything she depended on. It was the first real, real instance of the whole slayer is meant to be alone thing.
 
"Close your eyes" is the saddest line in the whole show. The theme is beautiful and every time I hear it, it takes me back to that moment in the show.
 
It makes me.. well, both sad and happy. When I'm listening to it, and when that part when she kills him comes, I feel sad. But you know, it's a beautiful piece of work, and I'm happy Bangel got it 😉
 
It is one of the sweetest and saddest music themes I have ever heard!!! It is amazing that music is written for this couple!!! Their love is indeed epic!
 
oh I love it, it always gets to me - in a bitter sweet kind of way. It's so sad, but so wonderful at the same time.

Actually - "Close your Eyes" was first played in Surprise, when Buffy & Angel are about the make love.

It was later used again in Becoming part 2.

So yeah - for us Bangels - it's definitely both a happy, romantic tone, but also a very sad one at the same time.

It plays alot during Season 2, just not Surprise and Becoming.

& it was actually first played in Some Assembly Required 😀
Or at least, it was a version of it.
You can hear it when Daryl was under the bleachers watching the football game. 😛
 
I have this theory that you can actually trace their story through the rise and falls of the piece. I think it is absolutely masterful.

This might make more sense if you read while listening to it.

Just how it starts off tentatively and almost unsure of itself (much like their relationship) and then builds steadier and steadier to something assertive and sure, then the piano brings in a moment of tenderness (Surprise) that swells to this huge crescendo that is as beautiful as it is devasting (Her shoving the sword through his chest), then it steadies itself again, almost echoing some of the earlier notes but melancholy (Season 3 Bangel) and then finishes it off with those final solitary notes, almost like an elipsis, like more is to come. (Like the promises they made in Chosen "Sometimes I do look that far ahead...").

Or, the other option is I'm insane lol 😉

That's a great way to look at it, i don't think your insain just a fan. Tonight i've written in loads of threads expressing feelings that are so sad and depressing, i think i'am more insain than yourself. :smile3:

What it does show i think is how you love the relationship in terms of Bangel and the show in general. I can see where your coming from aswell.
 
It makes me think of when it's reprised in Faith, Hope, and Trick, when she leaves the ring at the mansion. When she said, "Good-bye" to the empty room, it made me feel so hollow and empty, like something had been lost from the world. Of course, I didn't know he was about to come back 30 seconds later.

It is a simple arrangement but so profound and it takes me back to the moment when I first saw Surprise and Becoming Part 2. The happy when Buffy and Angel came together for the first time and the sad moment when Buffy killed Angel after Willow resores his soul too late for Buffy to do anything else. Christoph Beck is a genius. IMO
 
It gives me chills & takes me back to when I first started watching Buffy so it kinda takes me back to when I was younger & gives me the feeling I had back then. I love it 😀
 
It definatly makes me fill with emotion when I hear it...it's just so sad and romantic at the same time! 🙂
