"Buffy" And "Angel" Variant Covers

I was just wondering, how many people here collect, or try to collect, either all of the variant covers, or all of a particular artist's covers of either comic.

Personally, I just buy the comics to read, so whoever draws the cover doesn't matter.

I'm not terribly bothered about the covers...although there have been a couple where my Comic Book Guy gave me the variant when I would've preferred the original but, when push comes to shove, it's what's inside the cover that's most important

I don't even read the comics yet but I'm a collector so when I do start the comics I would like to find all the covers.

I pick whichever cover I like better and buy the comic. I mean, the cover doesn't really matter but for some I just would rather by the other cover, you know? Like, for Seaosn 8 #21 I liked the cover where it looked like a magazine rather than the really elaborate (but well-done) picture of Harmony and her dog.

Any that I do buy, I don't buy on release because of the hellish shipping that would entail. So I generally have a choice, and I choose the nicer looking one. It's not my fault that that's invariably Jo Chen's versions. If I buy Angel at all it'd be in HB form, so it's not an issue. I wouldn't buy two for collection's sake, but then again, I don't have a collection of them. If I did, I wouldn't want any variation - it'd be Jo Chen's and only hers. I'd be happy to wait to keep them all the same if it was necessary. You can kind of figure from this that I don't care at all about edition numbers and all that.

With Season 8, I buy all of Jo Chen's covers, just 'cause I like to have them all the same, and they are generally the better and prettier cover. Although, I have bought a few of Georges' covers, the one of Fray and Buffy in the flying car for example, 'cause of the 'Starfury' license plate, which he drew at a Convention I was at.

For Angel, I buy whichever cover I like best. I have no idea who draws them, I just buy what I like. I'm not really as fussed about Angel as I am about Season 8.

What Lyri said. I do care about the cover, but not really for collecting. Jo Chen's covers are so good that I use the previews for my screensaver slideshow.
