dont know why it didnt happen but it should have in all the years both angel and buffy were out why didn't the writers come up with the ideas to make a story arc that affected both series were all characters from buffy and angel had to come together to stop an evil they could have used the glorificus arc by changing little details changing her attitude from this ditzy school girl into one like illyria makes glory sound more like humans mean nothing to her awesome might. and angel knowing dawny was in trouble gathered his team to help buffy and thge scooby gang or they could have used the jasmine arc making it jasmine was trying to enslave the world like she was but she had her own army of demon who she was going to use to enforce her powers and buffy and the gang came to help angel imagine buffy, angel, xander, wesley, dawn, anya, fred, willow, spike, and giles all fighting evil together so amazing.

they couldn't do it because BTVS and Angel were on different networks. they couldn't 'team up'. plus, they were two different shows, with two different casts, different mythologies and a different set up. it would be impossible to bring all the casts together and give them equal screen time.

I don't know about both gangs coming together. That would be too much. Although, I think that Cordelia should have been on BtVS at least once after she left. When she was all grown up and stuff. But like she said in Lover's Walk, "What kind of moron would ever want to come back here?"

I think the groups were too busy dealing with their own problems in their own city. Realistically it was probably do to money, time and stuff we don't know about that happens behind the scenes. It's not just the writers that have say over the show (the producers and networks get to tell them what to do).

I did have a story in mind where that happened though. It was AU so Conner was a toddler and the world hadn't ended (for either group) and Buffy and gang show up needing Angel's help on something and chaos ensues. It was a pretty elaborate story line. I might actually write it some day.

The only time I want all of them together now is for one big movie. What would it be called tho. If we joined Buffy and Angel for a movie? "Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ft. Angel's team?" Lol.

yeah like a music video or something lol
It could have been done during Seasons 4 or 5 of Buffy and Seasons 1 or 2 of Angel, respectavely, when they were on the same network. Since Buffy was on on Tuesday and Angel on Wednesday, an arc begun on Buffy and concluded the next night on Angel would have worked quite well. Probably it just never occurred to Joss. It sounds like the kind of thing that he would love doing.

I highly doubt it never occurred to Joss...he thought up this wonderful world we call Buffy, I think he would have thought about crossovers. Personally I think it was all business. At the time SMG had a lot on, she was doing make-up ads and movies and God knows what else. It would essentially mean doing two shows in the time that one is made. Joss is good but he has yet to come up with a way to clone humans, cuz that would have required two of each actor. Also, spin off shows have a long history of sucking and tanking because the jump from the Mommy show never really takes. Angel needed to prove it's own worth without Buffy. If Angel had kept fallin back onto Buffy for support it never would have lasted past season 1. I think that is why not only did we not see cross-overs at pivitol times when really it would have been expected i.e. The Gift and towards the end of season 4 of Angel and season7 of Buffy, but I think the writers put deliberate blockades in the way so cross-overs COULDN'T happen...i.e. Angel getting sent to Pylea so he couldn't help Buffy and the electricity getting cut in Sunnydale so they remained unaware of Jasmine.

you know what i never knew about the whole power getting cut on buffy. do you remember what episode it was.
