Buffy and Angel's love lives

Ok, so we all know that Buffy and Angel fell madly in love, and would have given anything to be together forever, but it didn't work out that way. So then Buffy moves onto Riley, but it doesn't work. Why? Because he's not Angel? Because Riley couldn't make her come alive like Angel did? Because the relationship wasn't exciting enough for her? Because it was too safe? And as for Angel, Darla comes back into his life and he tries to save her but fails. Was he really in love with her? He was going to great lengths to save her, and was very distraught when she was turned. The whole time I'm thinking "What about Buffy?" And then in "Epiphany" he sleeps with Darla and then the next week on Buffy in "Forever" he's back in Sunnydale to comfort a grieving Buffy. Does he love them both? How? I know its just a show and you can make your characters do whatever you want, but what's the rationale for this? Is it that no matter how many people they fall in love with, or how much time passes, they'll always, deep down, be in love with each other? And what about Cordelia for that matter? Did Angel love Cordelia as much as he loved Buffy? We find out in "The Girl In Question" that he's had someone tailing Buffy for a while. A few months prior Cordy came back and we see how much in love they were and later in a "Hole in the World" he says he lost Cordy, he can't lose Fred. And then in the last couple of episodes it seems he's got something serious going on with Nina. Oh, and to go back a year, just a few months after Cordy goes into a coma, Angel's back in Sunnydale kissing Buffy. Isn't he sad about losing Cordy? It just seems wrong that he was back in the arms of Buffy so soon. Does he really love these other women? Or was he with them because he couldn't be with Buffy? It just doesn't seem fair to Cordy or Nina. Okay, I think I'm done with my tangent. Your thoughts please. Oh, and did I put this in the right section? Angel and Buffy loved each other obviously"¦ he was the first man she ever loved and (according to him) she was the first woman he ever loved. That would have residual feelings I'm sure even if they fall in love with other people as time goes on.

In season two Angel loved Darla, but once she was turned again all bets were off, he failed he felt like a failure he tried to save (his true first love IMHO) and failed he tried to save her soul even and failed again.

Cordy, Angel loved her and wouldn't have dropped her if Buffy came in to the picture. When Buffy died he could go on he was upset when he didn't want to die because she did. When Cordy died he was lost. He turned down W&H's offer with Lilah telling him that the amulet was to help Buffy save the world yet he took the deal to in order to save Connor and Cordy.

Nina, was a mistake LOL I am not commenting on her way too quick and him chasing Buffy while supposedly dating Nina (yeah, *dating*) was wrong when in the next ep they are *dating*

Add: in the final ep of Buffy he was suppose to tell her that he loved Cordy and had a son named Conner but they didn't add it because they thought it would be bringing too much of his show into hers.

Exactly,Angel is the only guy Buffy could ever really-really love (till TGIQ,I'll talk about that later)

Angel's not dangerous,the one who's dangerous is Angelus. Angel turns into Angelus if he makes love to Buffy. So,if they can't have sex together that side of the story isn't too exciting really. Bangel is not about excitiment;the thing is that they loved each other. It didn't work out for Riley because Buffy never stopped being in love with Angel.

And as for Angel, Darla comes back into his life and he tries to save her but fails. Was he really in love with her?

No,never. He just cared for her a lot,after all,she was his sire😛. He might have loved her,but he wasn't in love with her. He told her so in 'Darling Boy'.

He was going to great lengths to save her, and was very distraught when she was turned.

As I said,she was important to him. He failed on the saving her thing,that's why he was distraught. Not only that,he knew that now that she was a vampire again,he was going to have to kill her...again. (Note: He killed Darla to save Buffy. That proves Buffy was more important to him).

Two words: sexual tension.
Angel is a guy,he needs some..realese..okay,another answer!. It was predestinated,he had to sleep with Darla so Connor could born. Skip explained everything in ATS S4.

She was sad and depressed (well,duh!,her mother died!) and she needed him.He will always be there for her...what are soulmates for?

Yes,he does.But he is in love with Buffy,not with Darla.

You just said it,they can fall in love with other people,but they are each other's true loves. Deep down they will always be in love with each other.

No,he did love her though.

Cordelia was pretty damn in love with him,he loved her back,but didn't love her as much as she loved him and as much as he loved Buffy.

Yes,but that doesn't mean anything,he did lose Cordy and didn't want to lose Fred. If felling bad about losing someone means being in love with them,you just said he was in love with Fred and we all know he wasn't.

I don't think having sex and is having something serious. She is his girlfrind,point. He doesn't love her as he loves Buffy. Sex isn't love.

It's not like he went to Sunnydale to smooch Buffy,he went there to give her the amulate and save the day. Concerning the kiss,well,Buffy kissed him first,he wasn't gonna reject her.

He is,doesn't mean he can't kiss the woman he really loves.

It was just lil kiss,and he didn't plan it,it just happened.

Do you think he'd be with them if he could be with Buffy?.Of course he was with them because of that. No one likes being lonely.

Yeah,I think you are kinda right,I just added my personal comments and answered some things :: tu ::. Sorry if I sounded kinda mean, Cangel issues get on my nerves lol

I do not agree,Buffy is always first.

When Buffy died he could go on he was upset when he didn't want to die because she did.

He did go on when Cordelia died too. And we don't know what Angel's reaction to Buffy's death was. The first time we saw him after she died was 3 months later (Note: 3 months later after Cordelia's death he was okay again,you were talking about Angel's first reaction to the events,as I said we don't know what Angel did,tried to do,felt and thought when Willow told him Buffy died).

When Cordy died he was lost.

She loved her,not as much as he loved Buffy though (how many times did I say that already?lol😛).When Joyce died Buffy was lost,I pretty much doubt Buffy was in love with her;she was lost because she loved Joyce and was important to her

He didn't have a choice,he had to do it,otherwise Cordelia,Connor and a lot of innocent people would have died. He would have done the same for Wesley,Gunn,Fred...and let's not mention Buffy...or Spike😛😉
