I'm not sure how many are aware of this but, the swords sold by Factory X as the Buffy and Angel/Angelus Swords from the episodes: Becoming 1&2,
are no where near to being screen accurate.
I had a very good lead on finding the actual screen-used Angelus Sword as I know who made it and I was told the fellow would actually rent it out from time to time.
When I tried to rent it however, it suddenly "went missing" according to the owner.
It was shortly after that that the newest "Angel Sword" hit the market and I realized what had happened...
The maker of the real sword had cut a deal with Factory X and because their interpretation of it was so different,
the original screen used sword had to disappear.
Yet another piece of Buffy History bites the dust!
Anyway, here are my home made, screen-accurate versions of those two swords with a link at the bottom which you can follow to see the research done to re-create them:

thats damn amazing.... i could never do anything like that....
I own a weapon collection. You know, swords, daggers, crossbow... So it would be awesome to own this one!

One of the things I have meant to do with these is take molds of the hilts and pommels so they could be reproduced in Brass as were the originals.
Keep checking back if you have an interest in this!

Have you considered making practical versions of these swords? There are quite a few swords on the market now that have carbon steel blades large enough to be cut down to the proper configuration while also being long enough to form a full tang, giving the finished product enough strength to actually be sharpened and used for the kind of light cutting (water bottles, fruit, etc) that some collectors enjoy. Carbon steel might actually be easier to work with that the cheap stainless that most of the more common wall hangers, and there are quite a few different models available now for well under $100.

That's a very cool idea! Everytime I go to find someone to cast up the Brass for me though they want too much to do it and I'd want castings on a fairly regular basis.
I have a couple more leads to check out however so let me get back to everyone on this.
It would also be a great help to know how many people would be interested in this and if there's enough we could move ahead and keep costs low.
Feel free to post here and or PM me. It would be great to get this going on!😀

These are awesome! I would love to start my own weapon collection.

BudK catalog a while back had a bunch of Buffy weapons. Not sure the quality of their products though

Bud K's merchendise runs the gambit from excellent to pure trash. If it's the "authorized" Buffy collectables, it's fairly safe to say that the quality is pretty good for what it is intended for, but it's only intended to hang on the wall.
Thanks for the friend request!
I have a quote on some Carbon Steel Blades coming from a machinist friend so should have an idea of cost sometime soon.

Things are progressing apace with this as I have TWO machinists working on the blades (One will cut them and the other will put the fuller into the Angelus Sword and then temper them both)
A third Metal-Smith will be pouring up Brass copies of the sword hard-ware(Hilt's, pommels, handles) which I still need to create molds for so that I can send him wax copies.
It would REALLY help me out however if people who are interested in this would contact me via PM and tell me so!
Thanks!

Two carbon steel blades have been designed and ordered.
Once they are cut and ground they'lle be sent to another machinist for application of the fuller (groove) to one and tempering of both.
This same machinist will be casting my sword pommels and cross guards in Brass.
I still haven't heard from anyone as far as interest here, ah well...
I don't tend to let things like that discourage me.
