Buffy and Faith Body Switch...

I just watched this episode again the other day when Faith woke up from her coma and switched bodies with Buffy.

I have to say that I was very impressed with how they played each other.

Buffy playing Faith was excellent....she took on Faith's mannerisms very well in my opinion.

I loved the part where she's looking in the mirror saying, "That's wrong" hahaha....

What does everyone else think?
 
I really liked Faith's struggling take on Buffy. Like when she's talking to Joyce, you can see that she's really out of her element and has to learn how to play nice with others. Apparently she didn't take it too seriously tho, as evidenced by her comments to Spike and Tara! Still - I thought it was interesting and kind of gives an insight in to Faith's particular brand of crazy.
 
This episode always makes me really sad, both for Buffy and Faith. It is one of my favourite episodes though, one of the really wonderful Faith/Buffy episodes. Gotta love it. Very well acted and I just love the things they let Faith (as Buffy) say. This is one of the episodes that really turned me into a Faith fan. Is there ever a character more interesting than her? I don't think so...
 
It is a really intersting episode, and the acting is excellent. We get to see Faith out of a whole new perspective, and explore her at the same time as she is exploring herself in this new "situation". And for me this is one of these episodes that gets better and better every time I watch it, it always gets me thinking about Buffy and Faith and their releationship.. And there's just so much happening here, especially with Faith, and I just wish that it would be explored even further. which of course it is in Angel.. hm.
 
I loved the way Sarah subtley mimicked Faith's accent and speech and Eliza was great at doing the way Sarah kinda looks around as she's talking to someone rather than holding eye contact. She also nailed Buffy's speech patterns with the emphasis she puts on certain words and " Oh! ?Cause, uh, Ethan Rayne. And-and you have a girlfriend named Olivia..." delivered exactly how Sarah would. The only part I thought was a bit much, was when she sorta played with/pushed back her hair with her little finger on her right hand. That seemed forced and I can't remember seeing Sarah ever use that mannerism.

Hell, yeah! The number of dirty things I'd like to do to that body is astounding and he's like err... vanilla, thanks. In all fairness though, these women types have been known to play games with us and throw us the odd test to see how we'll react. So maybe he was just playing it safe lest he suggest they do something "unconventional" only to be slapped and told, "I knew you were a pervert! I fell for how clean-cut and sweet you were, but you're just like rest of your filthy, degenerate sex."
 
I always get a kick out of the credits during the beginning chapters. Not the opening credits, but the ones onscreen during the episode. It says, "Eliza Dushku as Buffy" That's great, because she really was playing the personality of Buffy.

I agree that both actresses really did a nice job changing roles. Their appearance makes it tricky, because you are thinking that SMG if Buffy, but really, she was the Faith character all the way, and vice versa.
 
Yeah... And SMG even had to be Faith sort of trying to be Buffy. Which has got to be hard, but she's pretty good eh? (Now I really have to watch these episodes again soon...)
 
That episode rocks.. i was really impressed on how well they each played each others characters.. like u could really see the difference... the mirror bit was cool... im buffy.. buf-ffy.. becuase its wrong! im buffy summers ill kick ur ass.. lol sweet! :shades:

I loved the mirror part....it was great!!
this is one of my all time fave buffy/faith eps.
both actresses were awesome throughout the whole ep. i thought ED as buffy was great...she nailed everyone of SMG's mannerisms and buffy's speech pattern, it was all just great! nothing bad at all about this ep!!
 
For me, this is the turning point of Faith. When she is in the Body of Buffy, she realises the error of her ways. This is when Faith begins to realise the power thats within her, this is also when she realises that she needs to pay for what she has done. Ok when she arrives in LA she seems still same Faith, but again, i think thats cry for help/old habits/instincts sorta deal.

Yeah, there are definitely times when she "gets it". Maybe not completely, but she at least has a glimpse of what it's like to be the "good" slayer. But I think she's actually trying to run away from it again when she goes to LA. In tourturing Wesley she's actually trying to do worse than she had before (all her previous kills were quick, just getting it over and done with) as a way of recapturing the feeling of not caring. But her new awareness from being Buffy for a day then made her self destructive.

Easily my 2 favorite episodes from S4. There's nothing I can say about them that hasn't been said. Eliza was great with the switch, as was Sarah. I think it'd be kinda hard to play the same character for 4 years then suddenly switch into a whole new character! Cause Faith and Buffy are pretty different. And about how they both had to kinda change their way of talking... When the scoobies were at Giles house and Giles told them how "faith" escaped and Sarah was like "what are you talking aboot?" (pronounced about like aboot) I remember hearing Eliza say aboot a lot. I thought it was great watching Buffy as Faith and Faith as Buffy. Just great.
 
I agree with everyone that both actresses were astounding playing each other... but as far as the characters are concerned.. this episode reveals / confirms so much about Faith character... I mean throughout the entire epi but most of all when she punches her own body (in the church) and you can see this rage (kudos to SMG) in her eyes... this is just "WOW! She actually hate being who she is THAT MUCH?!?" I'm not sure but I think I recall calling her body b*tch even? That's the most AMAZING part to me.... and I think actually it was easier for SMG to play Faith (with all the lil faithy things - 5x5... carelessness etc.) than for ED to play B who has of course some major mimics and particularities but those are less obvious :blah3:
 
yeah totally with you there... how faith ahtes being who she is... you can also tell which character was which with the girls doing a fantasic job (sarah and eliza)... cmon they deserve a logie.... they both rock.. that whole episode rocks...
 
I thought that episode was excellent, each actress did their roles so well. I loved it when Faith was Buffy and she was with Riley that made me laugh.

I enjoyed watching the two play each other, i also loved Faith's saying "Five by Five" and how she used called Buffy "B".
 
I thought that they played each other very well. And for some reason, when SMG was playing Faith, I kinda saw a similarity between her, and the character Kathryn in Cruel Intentions. Well, anyway, they could have fooled me. I was actually wondering for a while if they really did swap bodies!
