Buffy And Faith, Now, Really,,,

If Buffy and Faith were to end up together then Buffy would have to be canonically bisexual

Could it have been done in the same way that prison inmates serving long term sentences enter into a homosexual relationship just for the duration of their time behind bars, then return to heterosexual once released? Granted, there isn't that element of single sex segregation in Sunnydale, but it could be stretched a bit to have both girls reluctant to form any sort of relationship with normal humans, for fear of their lover's safety, the old Superman/Lois Lane factor, so, as an alternative, he would've hooked up with the Martian Manhunter.

(That made more sense when I started than id did when I finished)

For me the most sensual part of their relationship are the shared dreams. They are really special and intimate, and they always have this feeling of happy domesticity together. Buffy certainly never had that with Kendra.

* remembers that Faith was in prison for almost three years *

Surely some of the other inmates must have made a pass at her when she first showed up, at least until they saw what Faith would do to them if they took it too far. Remember, in Salvage we see that the guards actually have to let the other prisoners know when Faith is around.

Before Faith hooks up with Wood, she says "it's been awhile", does she mean since she's had sex or been with a man?

Yes, there's tension between the two but that doesn't mean they had romantic feelings.

Not all relationships are about romance.

That makes me think, isn't it kind of offensive that vampires are always portrayed as sexually fluid AND evil. Like dam, those evil vampires, they are clearly sexually devious, better make them bisexual! Not a fan of the idea that the only reason vamps are bisexual is because of the demon in them.
@Blaze: But that would make them bi prior to turning? or maybe they just don't have a sexuality. hihi won't go into it cause I will get off topic, but it's something to think about!

I'd say pansexual - and that without concern for society mores and religious traditions this is probably the human norm. The difference isn't the demon - which Faith and Buffy share - the difference is the disconnect. I tend to see the demon as passion, though - which is why i see such sexual tension between Buffy and Faith.

Definitely an interesting topic ;)

She did seem pretty eager to hook up with a guy. I think her talk with Spike made that clear. Saying she spent a lot of time with women and is over that. Then saying it's been a long incarceration and walking over to Spike to remind him about what she said when she was in Buffy's body. That didn't work out so she jumped onto Wood. Literally. Maybe if Buffy had shown some interest towards her...Idk.

I think Faith seeks out sex with men because she knows it will not get complicated because she doesn't feel anything. If she slept with Buffy...she would feel a whole lot. I think she's bisexual and homoromantic, and she's in love with Buffy during the entire show. She doesn't trust anyone, so she doesn't want to get attached, which would explain why she never tried to get with girls--not because she doesn't like them, but because she does, and it would be too hard and complicated. My head canon at least.

Faith also says something to Wood about women in the prison system wigging her out (paraphrasing) so I doubt she have any personal time in prison- she was there to get well, not to have sexy fun times or anything.

I think Faith thinks of intimacy and sex as two distinct and completely separate things. Sex is a need, a pleasure, an itch to scratch and nothing else (she thinks that Angel's curse would be broken by a 'single moment of pleasure', not happiness, for example).
Intimacy is something else to her, its something she clearly wanted from Buffy, and eventually got from Angel- a deep bond, but never gets from the guys she sleeps with- including Wood.

That didn't work out so she jumped onto Wood

In defense of Faith, Wood was the one who did the jumping. ("I came up to talk about weapons..." Right. He wants to talk about the weapon situation with someone who just got into town the previous day, instead of Giles, who has been there and pretty much knows what is going on, Ri-i-i-i-i-ght. Wood obviously has a thing for Slayers)

Faith just didn't push him away.

Besides, as she said, it had been a long dry spell, and the only likely candidates were Giles, Andrew, or Wood. I would say that she just made the best of three bad choices.

Aw, why is Giles a bad choice? She did hit on him a bit in Faith, Hope and Trick. lol. Andrew hated her anyway for eating his hot pocket. I find it sad that these are the only three options she had. lol. If Xander wasn't still hung up on Anya, I'd suggest him. In fact I'd rather have Xander in that scene then Wood! Oh this is just making me think about all the things I hate that didn't happen in S7, so I'll stop now. Wood's not a bad choice...but he wasn't her first choice. lol

Haha yeah I thought so too! Wood was hoping to get laid.

I agree with @thetopher: Faith never really got emotional intimacy from him, something she noticeably has with Buffy and Angel. Their relationship was destined to be a months-long affair at best. Although I did think it was nice that Wood convinced Faith to give him a second chance.

That's actually a good point! Why would he need to talk about weapons. He doesn't even go on the mission with them! Was Faith planning on taking him, and then decided not to after she slept with him? You're right, it was just an excuse to see Faith. Well played Robin Wood. Well played. And then he gets her to give him a second chance. Boy is desperate for a slayer!

It wasn't his either - the guy has a serious slayer fetish. Mommy issues.😛
This made me LOL! Oh I forgot that he tried going on a date with Buffy first. Lol. I don't know how Faith would have felt if she knew that. She asks Buffy if that got "bouncy", to which she replies they didn't. But failed to mention the date they had. And that it was Wood who was trying to kill Spike, not Giles! Although he allowed it. lol. Reminds me of when Xander had a thing for slayers too.

Oh I forgot that (Wood) tried going on a date with Buffy first.

Go on a date? The guy was coming on to Buffy from the first moment that he laid eyes on her! He obviously has a Slayer fetish, and he admitted that he knew that she was the Slayer before he ever came to town. If he had been any more obvious, he would have been giving her flowers and candy when he offered her a job at the school (no doubt, since he was aware of who she was, he was also well aware of her financial state and place of employment. He could have probably told you her shoe size)

I've always wondered, if Wood hadn't known how and where to find Buffy, do you think that he would have somehow managed to finagle a job as Assistant Warden at Faith's prison?

Haha. I love your insistence on his slayer fetish! Did he know a lot about Buffy personally? Did he even know there was a second slayer? He says when meeting Faith that he had heard of her. But only one of the Scoobies could have filled him in on her past with Buffy. It's possible he knew of a second slayer, but how would he have known she was in prison? Did he contact Lilah? Cause I kinda want to see that. lol.

LOL @ Faith's completely nonchalant reaction to Buffy's mini-freakout over Faith and Wood getting together. Faith has this look that says, "Yeah, and...? I'm a woman, I have needs, I thought I was gonna die tomorrow and the guy clearly has a thing for Slayers... the man was mine."

I've always wondered, if Wood hadn't known how and where to find Buffy, do you think that he would have somehow managed to finagle a job as Assistant Warden at Faith's prison?

Wood was probably thinking, "... and if this thing with Buffy doesn't work out, then I'm on the next bus to LA!"

Wood says to Faith, "She told me about you" so it looks like Buffy was the one who brought it up.

Oh I thought he said "I heard about you" my bad. lol

Wood said that he was raised by his mother's Watcher, so it's a fair assumption that he would probably have been able to access Watcher's Council records, and the Watchers certainly knew where Faith was. (They might not have known, however, that Buffy had died after defeating Glory, then been resurrected several months later. Giles and the Scoobies obviously kept that fact secret)

I never knew Wood was so hated! lol 😉

I did think it was weird that he kept all his knowledge a secret for months in S7. If he knew Buffy was the slayer then why not say 'hey, I'm an ally/potential date. Let me tell you all about my cool backstory!'
His slayer-fascination is a bit strange I guess.

As for him and Faith- a ship that passed in the night I think.
I didn't see it lasting long becasue they don't have anything in common. Faith came along, saw and now has the 'I got wood' t-shirt. 😀

Woods a pretty creepy guy if you think about it, he's all possessive with Faith and at first Buffy. I don't think the fandoms too fond of Robin either since I've read multiple fan fiction stories where's he's abusive to Faith 🙁
