Buffy And Faith: The Vampire Slayers

If Faith hadn't gone evil in Season 3, but instead stayed on the show to become Buffy's co-star, how do you think that the story would have gone?

My guess is that she would have stayed on as a regular on the show through Season 3, and probably on into Season 4 for a few weeks, then left, either to go to a new hellmouth or vampire hot spot, then had a recurring role in both Buffy's and Angel's shows, coming in to lend a hand whenever a larger than normal amount of s**t hit the demonic fan, or even spending half a Season on one show, then moving to the other for the rest of the year.

Then, of course, there would always be the possibility of getting her own show later.

Faith not going evil, she probably would have stayed on and left in s4 and went over to Angel. Or maybe she turns evil in s4 instead. I think at some point she would have gone onto Angel, she just fits better there, and then maybe just becomes a recurring character on either show. Or yea, there's always the other Hellmouth or demon hot spots. Depending on what her mission is, because without going evil, she doesn't have the redemption story arc.

She and Buffy hook up, leaving all us fans extremely pleased. 😀

At least, that's what I'd hope to happen. Although, considering Faith serves much of the same purpose as Spike does, it's possible that Spike might never have come back on to the show. Spike returning in Season 4 was because they needed someone to tell Buffy that she was stupid and going to die. If Faith was there to say that Spike would not be needed.

However, I agree with @Fuffy Baith in that I'd much rather see Faith over on Angel.

A lot of the above- either Faith going over to Angel- I think killing Finch accidentally and then reforming her reckless ways would've made this a smoother transition without nessesarily the whole 'rogue slayer' angle.
Or being a guest star on Buffy, and/or being a Buffy love interest for a little/long while- probably after the Riley rebound. I can't see Joss and the writers wasting Eliza's talent by not giving her something interesting to do.

Plus they could've used the slayer connection to explore the mythology of the slayer earlier and in much more detail. Faith going evil hinted at the (possibility) of darker nature of the slayer but the writers could've used the existance of slayer dreams- that connection that Buffy and Faith shared that Buffy never had with Kendra- to foreshadow the First slayer, the Shadowmen, and other plots revolving around slayers before or after Restless.

Also exporing why Buffy had prophecy dreams and Faith didn't seem to- unless they were Dawn-related.
And again use Faith to illustrate the 'road not taken' maybe not in such an extreme way but like a different path to adulthood- no responsibility or family to look after (or look after her) and how that affects her outlook when it came to her calling.

Basically a whole bunch of stuff could've been done. 🙂

This brings up another possibility, since Joss likes to push the boundaries so much, like with Willow and Tara...

Don't just push the boundaries, give them a good solid slam, with Buffy, Faith, and Spike as TV's first ménage à trois. Fuffies and Spuffies both happy. Then let Angel get wind of it, and seek comfort and reassurance in Cordie's arms...

The logical answer for me would be that Angel leaves in Amends, and Faith initially takes up Angel's role in s3. Than perhaps she takes up Spike's role in s4 and possibly beyond. One thing for sure though, the networks would not have allowed Fuffy to happen.

I actually don't think Faith really fits on either show though, I think she would work best as recurring on both AtS and BtVS, but not being permanent on either show. In the end her own show (I picture a more lone wolf type show) would make the most sense.
