Are Buffy and Faith, after all of the trials and tribulations they have gone through since meeting, friends? Robin Wood said that Faith "cared a lot more about Buffy than she was willing to admit," and Faith tried to explain her jealousy of Buffy, plus when Buffy was stabbed in the Hellmouth, Faith was the first one to her side. I know that they were enemies during the Mayor's assention and the whole body swap thing, but, by Season 7 and beyond, do you believe that the Chosen Two were really, finally, friends?

i think they were definatly friends seen as she put faith in charge instead of anyone else she could have put kenndy or anyone else in harge but she chosse faith when buffy passed faith the sive and there eyes met it was forgiveness and friendship and trust and maybe a bit of sisterly love that passed through those unspoken words.

When Buffy gave Faith the scythe it was more than just friendship, ok it wasn't but I want it to be. Anyways, I think they were definitely friends by then. I think tho they have a lot to still work out. I think in season 8 we will know how much Buffy really trusts Faith. She must in some ways because she was ok with Faith going after this rogue slayer knowing full well what she has been thru herself. So, I think there is new found respect for each other and a budding relationship, uh, I mean friendship.

are they friends? i think so. there will always be the memories of the bad stuff that has happened in the backs of their minds, but i do believe that they are friends.

I think the are friends by then too.We see them grow up from the teenagers they were, fighting and jealous of one another at some point. Now they're working together once again side by side, so yeah i think they did become friends

"Friends" is not a suitable word when it comes to those two, IMO. I'm not sure if they were ever friends, even back in the begining of season 3 when they were actually getting along. They have a bond beyond friendship, beyond anything that Buffy ever had with anyone else, because what they have in common is something "supernatural"; they are both slayers, active at the same time, fighting side by side (at least for a while, and then not, but then again) yada yada. They obviously have a personal chemestry thang going on far more hotter and intense than what Buffy and Kendra had, so their relationship must obviously consist of more than just the slayer-slayer-connection, IMO.

Except in 8.07 when Faith is reviewing their relationship she says this.

Maybe she was just saying, "Friends don't let friends turn evil without stabbing them." Sounds logical to me...
I kinda agree with DG. To me, it's a camaraderie and understanding of each other than a "friendship" per se. They've fought each other and now fighting alongside each other means that they understand one another better.

Do they look out for each other now? Absolutely. Do I see them shopping at the mall together or talking about guys over a coffee? Not so much.

"friends" is not the word i would use. but i think they understood each other more. I don't think there would ever be the trust between them fully for them to be friends. and i dont read too much into buffy giving her the scythe. it was THE biggest fight ever and she needed faiths strength to help, just like she needed everyone else she could get.
